Delicious Mocha Latte

Hey there all you latte lovers! One of the things I have missed most from my past life is a really good mocha latte (from Starbucks.)  As you may already know...Starbucks has come out with a new Skinny Mocha that is made with fat free milk and sugar free syrup.  I was so excited about it but reality is that it just didn't taste very good.  I love the Skinny Hazelnut Latte but the mocha leaves quite a bit to be desired. So...when I got home this afternoon I made up my own and it was WONDERFUL!!!  The only drawback is that you may not have all of the ingredients but trust me...it is worth keeping everything stocked!!! Miss Fred's Mocha Latte (that actually tastes like a mocha) 1 Tablespoon DaVinci Chocolate Sauce 1 Tablespoon Gosh That's Good Sugar Free Rich Classic Chocolate 1 cup Hood's Calorie Countdown Skim Dairy Beverage 2 shots decaf Starbuck's espresso In a 12 oz. cup put the chocolate sauce and Gosh that's Good in the bottom.  Steam the mil****il hot.  Slowly pour in some of the hot milk and stir until smooth.  You may need to froth the remaining milk a bit to get a drier foam at this point.  Add the 2 shots of espresso and then add the remaining milk but don't stir it... remember that you want those layers of flavor.  Hold the foam back with a spoon and then add the foam to the top and enjoy!   I hope that you like this as much as I do.  Using Hood's really cuts down on the milk sugar so you can drink it without fear of dumping.   Happy Frothing! Miss Fred,  you are something else!     I can't wait to try it!  The only thing I don't have is the Gosh chocolate.  Oh well, gotta try it anyway.   Have a great evening.   Peace! Beth

Ok me again.  Gosh That's Good's website sells 16 oz for 23.99.  I found it on baristapro for less than $12 for a 16 oz.  I got one of the chocolate and white velvet...  LindaF on bariatriceating says thats what they use too on their coffeeshop and its good. Freddie have you tried the white velvet one?  What all can I do with these?  I cant wait

I make my mocha latte using Matrix 5.0 Perfect Chocolate protein powder.

Susan's Mocha Latte

1 scoop Matrix 5.0 chocolate protein powder 2 shots Starbuck's espresso (I use fully leaded, but decaf works too) 2 pumps (1/2 oz) DaVinci Chocolate syrup Splenda to taste, optional 1 cup skim milk Put the protein powder in the cup and add the chocolate syrup and just a splash of the cold milk, enough to stir into a smooth paste. Brew the espresso and add to the paste, stirring until fully dissolved. Steam the milk and pour into the mixture, holding back the foam and adding just a spoonful to the top of the latte. Yum! FYI - if you don't have an espresso machine you can still make this using instant espresso powder and just heat the milk on the stove or microwave. You can even get the foam with one of those little battery operated drink mixers. It won't be exactly the same but it will work.

Ok this one didnt have protein in it but I tried it... 2 tbslp sf davinci choc sauce Steamed milk - 8 oz instead of 10......I used 8 oz of milks (mixture of 1%, carb countdown, & half & half) I dont knwo why. Sounded like a logical thing to do... not all that sugar but not real watery either.  splenda (thanks Susie for the recommendation & reminder... choc sauce is kinda bitter) shot of espresso Its pretty good.  Will try matrix next time
