Denied (for now)

Thanks...I know they will help me..Amy is so nice..It is just very discouraging...but like Tara said, the surgery is a means to an end and ins co distract us so I am going to try to start making changes now so when surgery does happen I will just be that much closer...I am so ready for this surgery ...but I have to play the ins game...I changed to this ins just for this..it is more expensive than the other that my work offers but the other does not cover bariatric surgery...I hope i didn't change ins for nothing!

Just don't give up Chrissy.  I will say a prayer that things will start falling into place

It's all going to work out Chrissy.  I'll say a prayer for you.  I had several stumbling blocks in my way before I had my surgery too.  And I finally had mine on 11/29/07.  Just keep submitting what you have too and everything will work out like it's supposed too.  I'll be looking for your post where you've been APPROVED!!!  YEAH!!! Chrissy, I am so sorry. I remember getting denied and I was so mad that smoke started coming out of my nose and ears...ok, just kidding.  But I was steamed.  Just remember to keep copies of documentation for yourself, get all documentation from pcps, nutritionists, therapists, any and all people you may see regarding the weight loss.  I even went so far as to copy the slim fast box top and submit a copy of a canceled check from Weigh****chers.  I had three copies...one for myself, one that my parents kept in case something were to happen to my copies, and one for the insurance companies.  Be very pro-active, call regularly.  If you have the insurance from your job, see who the insurance rep is and talk to them.  This is what I did and was able to get it approved in a matter of weeks after talking to that person.  I don't know if any of this will help, but I wish you the best of luck.   -Alyssa

Thanks Alyssa I have lots of stuff like that...Weigh****chers L.A. weight loss...I have done just about everything!! That makes it even more frustrating...But I will definitely keep on keeping on..Tomorrow I am going to call my case manager at Humana and see my PCP...I will find out exactly what I need to do...
