Positive thoughts coming your way and prayers for a speedy approval. I'm sure the staff was thorough in what they submitted and you will get your approval. It took my insurance company 2 weeks.

Chrissy ~ First, let me say, I just love your name! It's just fun to say...  Anyway, I'm a couple days behind on posts, but will be pulling for you and quick approval! I have Aetna and I was approved in about a week and a half. Being the impatient one, even that drove me crazy, so I totally understand the anxiousness in the waiting.  This surgery definitely provides an incredible tool that helps us achieve and be successful in a vital area of our lives where we have - on numerous occasions - failed on our own. The approval and the surgery date hold obvious importance. However, the scale moving downward and your healthiness moving upward are ultimately what change your life. That said, my advice would be to keep very true to what you've been doing to lose the 10%, because anything you lose between now and surgery will be that much less you have to lose! Remember, you're doing this for YOU, not the insurance company. They're just a means to the end - and somehow become our distraction! I went ahead and started on the pre-op diet when my paperwork was submitted. I figured this was going to be a lifestyle change, so why wait? Start today! I knew that liquids - w/ one lean cuisine - was what I would be doing for a week and 1/2 before surgery (then full liquids for 4 days), so that's what I did. They were actually able to schedule surgery a little sooner that way because I was ready. I'm sure you will keep us posted, and we will be waiting to celebrate with you!! ~ Tara

Hey Tara, I guess you missed my latest post...I was denied...I have more paperwork to do so I am going to my pcp monday to try to get it straight...I have to do a 6 month supervised diet...which i have done ...I just hope the Dr. office has documentation suitable for Humana...I really hope I have 6 consecutive months..that is what I am worried about..I know I have 3 or 4 months for sure which will leave 2 or 3 possibly, I really can't remember...I know I have seen him very frequently because we were trying to do all the pre op requirements...So maybe a couple of months maybe sooner...But you are right...I can start this now...Does the ins company go by your BMI before or after your 6 month diet???? I am going to start cutting back now and exercising...it can't hurt...it will only make my body stronger for surgery...Thanks
