I have been lurking here for awhile now. I decided it was finally time to get into the boards. I am Gidget. I am a army wife and mom to four great kids. I am supposed to be getting surgery 10 January 2008. At this point I am not sure if its going to happen. My journey started in April 2006. Since then it seems like it has been a upward battle to get this done. I have questioned myself many times if I am doing the right thing. Right now I can just pray and hope that my surgery goes as scheduled.

Welcome to the board.  I have just found the board but in reading old post everyone seems overly supportive.

Hi Gidget, Welcome to the TN Board.  I had LapBand Surgery on 11/29/07, not to long ago.  And your questions to yourself are a natural thing.  You will do that up until they wheel you into surgery.  In the long run you are doing what's best for you and your family so you can be around to watch those four great kids grow up into healthy adults.  YOU CAN DO THIS!!  We are here for you.   Again Welcome!! Hi Gidget. Welcome to the TN board. So you do have a definitive date for surgery on 1/10? That sounds like great news. How come you are not sure it is going to happen? Just because of all of the fight to get it? Well, hopefully it will happen. Just keep fighting and now that it will all happen when it is supposed to. Keep us updated on your journey and let us know if there is anything you need.

Because my original surgeon is not going to be able to perform the surgery. The Dr's office is going to see if they can file thru Tricare for the other DR in the practice to be able to do the surgery. If that happens then I will be having surgery 11 January. IF everything gets approved and the space is open.
