How did you feel the day before your surgery?  I know how I feel!  I just can't decide whether the rumbling in my stomach is from nerves, or this gosh darn liquid diet.  Yes, I'm a little scared.  Not as much from the surgery,as I am of the unknown. You know what I'm talking about.  those little "what ifs" or "gotchas" that lurk around the corner just waiting to jump out and scare the Jesus out of you!   I know everything will be OKAY! I guess feeling the way I do makes me...human!  I owe you guys and gals a big THANK YOU for your support, your massive amount of knowledge, and your unbelievable spirit.  I Love You Guys! OK, there goes that rumbling again,  I still can't figure it out.  Wait a minute, its not nerves or the liquid diet.  Its magnesium citrate with the "pleasing lemon taste".  Gotta go!   Have a great day!

I was really excited before my surgery....   Nervous....  I remember Mike talking about how hungry he was though.  I don't remember hunger.  But, he said that he was so hungry and starved, but after surgery, he was not hungry at all.  The surgery does something to the nerves or sensations or something that tells you you're hungry... so that it severs that ability and thats why we dont feel hunger anymore.  Hunger after surgery comes from the head, not the tummy. Scott have you thought of a good nickname for your new pouch?

Melinda,   I named Beth's pouch Alice.  In honor of "Alice doesn't live here anymore", or "Alice's Resturant".  she in turn has named mine Mel, as in "Mel's Diner".

Day before and day of surgery I was a bundle of nerves.. I was so scared, excited, everything rolled into one. I got really nervous the day of surgery when they were prepping me and this tiny little room I was in gets filled with nurses and assistants. I felt like I was gonna hyperventilate. I am just that way though tight places with a lot of people makes me feel" trapped". I made it through and so will you. I look forward to visiting you tom after I leave work. Can't wait to Welcome you to the losing side.

I felt great!  It was'nt till after surgery that I had the thoughts of "what if".  I know that you will do great.  You are prepared and have a great mindset of the things that lay in front of you.  You also have a great support system of family and friends.  I am here if you need me and I will give you a call tonight.  Love ya bunches, Melissa

Don't worry Scott you wont be hungry for a long long time so enjoy the rumble. Do not be scared it is real quick and not as much pain as is made out to be. I was up and walking in 4 hours and only a bit of nausea probably because of the anesthesia. no fluids or food for the 1st 24 hours then baby sips after that then you go home to your dare I say it....LIQUID DIET. So don't expect to feel hungry for a long time I am almost 3 weeks out and still don't get hungry hence why you measure your food.

Good Luck and Blessings

I was a ball of nervous energy!  I had so much to do and so little time to get it all done.  I went to church, turned it over to God and then did the laundry.  God is great but he doesn't do ironing! You are perfectly normal and will be fine...just not today. Big smile! Freddie

Scott, It was the end, but also the beginning of a new lease on life for me. I had the best surgeon I could find and I had my family with me for support. I ask Dr Spaw to pray with me and my family which he was glad to do. I always felt like this surgery was an answer to my prayers. I haven't looked back since and it has been great. The Tennessee Board has always been there for me when I had a question or needed support. You will do fine and you have so many people on this Board praying for your success and a quick recovery. I hope someone can make you a "losers bench", since you have made so many for everyone else. Blessings and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...you'll never be the same again. Will

Thanks for the support Will!  I have to be at Centennial by 5:30 a.m.  So, I guess from what I've read, it should be about 7:30.  My sister  (Melissa M.)  will be posting updates.  Thanks again!
