Come out come out where ever you are ...
Hi Juanita. I'm here... just got back a little big ago from my parents' , then stopped by the church to see Mike on the way home. Tim & I had been shopping. Then I got tired, and about crashed. Thank goodness for Starbucks.
By the way, I am now officially a caffeine/coffee/express addict. I got up, ate breakfast, left the house, then had a horrible headache... my head hurt so bad, I had to go home and fix myself an expresso caramel latte, and then take some liquid tylenol cause the headache would not let up. It finally did, then we left for mom & dad's... took forever to get that caffeine to kick in!!!
SUSAN J - I got a Delonghi expresso machine (Target, 69.99) for Christmas. Can you come over to my house and show me how to use it?
I would love to come over and teach you how to use your machine. Have you gotten your frothing pitcher? You want one that holds at least 2 cups.
I'll make a barista out of you. I'm no good to anyone until I've had that first cappuccino in the morning.

I used my last serving of SF Davinci caramel at home today, so while we were at Starbucks, I bought their SF caramel syrup. It was $6.95. I figured I needed it and didn't want to order the Davinci from online, and that was quicker.... they sell the smaller bottles at Walmart, but hey, why not just get that one? Plus its a plastic bottle and as clumsy as I am, I wont worry about dropping it.
But have you ever just done something really stupid, and then thought, duh idiot!? Well I got the bottle home, and took out a pump and stuck it right into the bottle... syrup went everywhere!! Luckily it wasn't that much wasted... but I told Tim how stupid that was! LOL
Yep, that will work. Or, you can just buy the pitcher at BB&B or Linens & Things. I don't use the temp gauge.
Also, you will eventually want to get a coffee grinder. When you do, get a burr grinder not one of those little round ones that swirls the beans around until they're ground. You can get a nice one at BB&B or Linens & Things. Sometimes Sam's has them too. Starbucks is going to be the most expensive place to buy one.
Until you get your own grinder, make sure you tell them you need "espresso grind" when you get your (Espresso Roast) beans. You can also buy the espresso "pods" at Starbucks.
You do want a Bold or Extra Bold roast to make a good espresso. I use either French Roast or Italian Roast which are both extra bold. But I like mine really strong. Starbucks uses the Espresso Roast in their espresso based drinks.
We're gonna have fun!
