I am so excited that I hit my first goal of 50lbs.  I need new clothes but am so hesitant to buy them just yet.  I think I am still in fairy tale land that this is real. I had a person (that new a guy that had an RNY) look at me and say "That is all you have lost and it has been since the end of August?"  Well so and so lost that in a month.  BUT so and so has been really sick and lost almost all of his hair.  That really made me doubt myself.  My friend keeps telling me to look at the bright side and ask myself "Would I have lost 50 lbs by now on my own."  The answer is NO.  I would have put on 5 more lbs and looked forward to stuffing my face with all the Christmas goodies. I just keep my chin up and think that at least I am steadily losing.  Besides.  I am happy and that is what counts. Happy Holidays everyone.

Congruatulations on your weight loss!!! Don't worry about what someone else is saying everyone looses weight at their own pace.  As far as clothes go I started going to Goodwill and I still go. I was loosing and did not want to spend a great deal on clothes that I would not wear very long and now I have gotten hooked on it and cannot stand to go anywhere else. I live in Nashville and and I know that Wednesdays and Sundays are .99 day and I find all kinds of clothes and a lot of them still have the tags on them so I would recommend going there. I work in a professional environment so I have to dress and no one would guess where I buy my clothes they all say I have the prettiest clothes....lol Debbie

Thanks everybody !! You are all so sweet !!  This is my first post on here and I am so pleased everyone is so friendly.  I hesitated because I know some people can be mean. It is nice to know this forum is so supportive.

Shannon, Don't feel bad at all about your weight loss. 50lbs. is great! Even though we have had the surgery it is still up to our own body's metabolism and genes. I am a slow loser too and believe me, Centennial is very strict with their patient's nutritional guidelines which I have (for the most part) followed to the letter. Everyone loses in a different way. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about your 50 lb. weight loss, just do your happy dance on their face. Melissa

I know what you are feeling. I have lost 52lbs and some people are like thats ALL. I am struggling to see if I can lose 10lbs more before the new year. But I have noticed that I ahve lost inches...5 just in my booty. Which surprises me cause any other time I lost weight I didnt lose it there. I ahve a friend and she is like 100lbs down we are 2 months apart form surgery, so I thought it isnt working for me, but I keep telling myself I am losing and thats all that matters. SO GREAT JOB to you and keep your head held HIGH!!!!

Precious Angel: You mustn't listen to people who have bad manners.  Unfortunately, since we all share a common bond we feel more at ease talking to each other.  Reality is that some people don't think before they speak and end up hurting our feeling even when that may not have been the intent.  Blow it off, sweet girlie!  It doesn't deserve being pondered any more. I am so happy for your accomplishment in loosing 50 pounds!  That's like 10 5-lb. cans of Crisco!  It is hard to believe that we (I've lost 80 pounds) carried around so much extra weight just a few months ago, isn't it?!?!?!  We are fabulous and getting better every day.  Just as there is no room in our picky little pouches for crap...we must also eliminate it (crap) from our minds!  We have so much power!!!!! I adore you and hope that you have a fabulous day!  By the way, Wednesday is half price day at Salvation Army.  I love Wednesday!!!!!! Big supportive sisterly hug! Freddie
