Breakfast: Would recommend Oatmeal, cream of wheat, yogurt, protein shakes of course Other ideas: Mac and cheese, pinto beans, refried beans and cheese, vienna sausages,  just try t stay away from the high carb soft foods like mashed potatoes. I'm sure others will have some ideas for you as well.

baked, broiled or steamed fish soft boiled or poached egg (scrambled if you can tolerate it) tuna, chicken or egg salad made with lite mayo, onion powder & pickle juice - no crackers chili - Wendy's or homemade cottage cheese yogurt - Kroger's has the CarbMaster which is higher protein and lower carbs than other SF FF yogurts. Fage 0% Greek style yogurt - expensive but worth it. High protein and very creamy texture. Mix some Cinnamon Bliss, Splenda & cinnamon or SF preserves into it.

If you can't tolerate eggs scrambled, put them in a blender.   I would scramble eggs with mushrooms and cheese and them put them in a blender.  I didn't liquify them but just made them a little softer. Oatmeal with protein in it.   I mostly ate tuna with some ff mayo for lunch baked, broiled, grilled chicken and a couple bites of green beans/ peas for supper. The Carb master yogurt, is tasty and has 9 g of protein.  I got some of the whey chocolate protein powder from walmart and I sprinkle it into strawberry/raspberry yougurt.  YUMMO  Taste like chocolate covered strawberries.   Some of the protein shakes I tolerated better as "ice cream"  I just made some up put them in the freezer and ate them like ice cream.  I think it fooled my head into thinking it was a treat.  LOL darlene

My Carb Master has 12 grams of protein per 6 oz cup. Of course there is no way a new op can eat 6 oz of yogurt. I think I was able to eat about 2 oz in a sitting at first. That's still a lot more protein than regular SF LF yogurt.

Mine has 12 grams, I don't know where I pulled 9 grams out of the air from.  I just like the taste of adding the chocolate protein.  Its just a bonus that it is added protein.  darlene

You know, before surgery I was a huge chocoholic. Now, I'd just as soon have strawberry or (gasp) vanilla. Except for my Nectar protein cappuccino, my AchievOne Cappuccino flavor, and my Valor SF dark chocolate. My favorite yogurt though is the Carb Master Vanilla. Who'da thunk it?

Hi Susan! Congratulations on your success thus far!  Isn't it great? I mostly ate chicken salad, egg salad or refried beans and cheese.  Because we initially eat such small portions, a Lean Cuisine could easily last until the next stage!  I had a turkey dinner that I ate on for almost a week.  It was really good but I could only eat about a teaspoon. I used a lot of lowfat sour cream.  It helped keep everything moist. Good luck to you!  Holler if can't find anything you like. Freddie

At 22 months, I still can't tolerate pasta. It sits like a rock in the middle of my chest. It's probably a good thing. Pasta was one of my all time trigger foods.
