I'm Catholic

Being Catholic, I go to church and receive Communion every week.  Can someone tell me how long it will be before I can swallow Communion again. Thanks, Sue

Not sure it woud hurt to take communion but maybe explain to your priest and get a blessing for 3 weeks then I am sure it would be Ok

I'm going to get the blessing of the sick tomorrow before I go in to the hospital, but I am wondering how long it will be before my new pouch will accept Holy Communion.  Do you know? Thanks, Sue

Sue, This wasn't something that I thought about a whole lot and when the priest came in to the hospital room the day after surgery, I had Communion.  I just let it sit in my mouth and allowed it to dissolve.  I did ask him for only a small portion of the next day.  There have been a few times since where my pouch was upset so I declined Communion and just had the priest bless me.  I work for the Catholic Church so, i have been taking Communion 3 or 4 times a week since the 2nd week.  (Except when my pouch is upset.)  Finally, check with your doctor.  I did check with mine, but it was an after thought.   God Bless
