Angel volunteers

Can someone explain what an angel volunteer is?  When I went to my first support group meeting 2 people said when I decided to have surgery, to let them know, they would love to be one of my angels.  What would I expect from a volunteer Angel? Sharon/Memphis

Hi Sharon. Basically an Angel is a close support person. Usually the angels will stay in touch during your actual surgery so they can update other people on how you are doing (like this board or your support group). Like a go-between for you and your support people so everyone will know how your surgery went. They are just someone you can keep in contact with if you need personal support through any hard times or good times. You can never have too many angls so I am glad you have some people there for you.
