We are a GO!-Maybe
Ok, What a Day! After I talked to the doctor's office, I checked on my loan and they increased it to $25,000. Then, I talked to the hospital who will give me at 36% discount (unlike my doctor), so now I have enough money. It is ridiculous that insurance wouldn't cover this surgery for someone who has the co-morbidities that I do. Especially since I work for a hospital system with a Bariatric Center of Excellence! Anyway, now I can go back to just being neurotic! Thanks everyone for your emergency prayers!
See my update below!
If your insurance is through the hospital I would defiantly bring that up with the person in charge of that area. I am not very smart in the insurance area but I would think that your stay would be at little to no cost seeing as you work there. makes me a bit confused. Why they wouldn't take care of their employees better. As I said I am pretty ignorant in that area so this is just the way i think.
Well, things aren't as rosy as I thought, but I am not sure how bad it is. Late yesteday I received a call from the hospital saying that I would still owe over $3000 after the doctor sent them their portion of the check from CapitalOne Healthcare Finance. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how. She called right in the middle of my daughter's birthday party, so I really couldn't talk. She said she was leaving then, so I will have to call her Monday. I just don't understand! My sister has offered to loan me the money until I can get it from my 401K so that I don't have to postpone surgery. So, she is being an angel!
