I will find out if I ate wrong after the Doc visit today......I think that I just am freaking out because it has been easier for me to eat. I mean that I have less gas...and in general feel great.....Sometimes I am not able to wait 1 to 2 hours after drinking to eat.....and sometimes I eat more then 3 times a day....mainly because I eat very little becaue I get tired of the taste....chewing....and food getting cold because of the time it takes to eat.....I also have tried more foods....some fruit...pasta....pizza...Indian....salad...not everything worked.....Salmon and chicken are the main big P's I eat....because I don't eat beef or pork.  worried getting fatter everyday peace out Keith

Your doc makes you wait up to 2 hours after drinking to eat?? Wow, that is a lot. Mine was 45 minutes before and after at the beginning and I still try to do 30-45 minutes now.  Glad to hear you are feeling great and recovering well. Just make sure you are focusing on getting in all of your protein. That is very important.

Ok here goes. You have been working out if I remember correctly from a prev post. You are burning more calories and your metabolism is growing so you need more fuel to burn now if that makes sense. The more you work out the more fuel you need to burn. Just keep that in mind and  I hope everything goes well on your doctor visit.

Are you measuring your portions? At this stage, you should be able to eat between 1/4 and 1/2 cup depending on the density.  Looking back over my food journal, I was able to eat 1 - 2 oz of baked, broiled, stewed meat and maybe a tablespoon of veggies at one sitting. No bread, no pasta, no potato, rice, noodles, etc. The only carbs I ate were in dairy and beans. I did have pizza but I only ate the topping off of one sllice of a medium. Much of the time I couldn't eat all of that. You say you are waiting 1 to 2 hours after drinking to eat...how long after eating do you resume drinking? I am assuming that your doctor's instructions are to wait that long to eat. Most surgeons say to wait 15 - 30 minutes after drinking to eat and then 30 minutes to 1 hour after eating to resume drinking.  Also, you need to take no longer than 20 minutes to eat your meal. Most of us have found that we do better breaking our meals into 5 or 6 mini meals spread throughout the day. Journal your intake if you are not already. As long as you are getting your minimum protein and water and staying within your calorie/fat/carb range, it is not going to make any difference whether you are eating 3 or 6 times a day. The only difference will be that you will be more satisfied eating more often.
