I usually go to the RNY Board but lately it has been a battle between the DS and RNY Post OPs and I am so very sad about that because those of us who are Pre Op are not getting the information we deserve. We have to filter through all the Crap and Bullying going on. I am sure it is the same dynamic in the DS room.

Anyway, I come here and read though the post and not one negative word there are both DS and RNY people in the same room coexisting. SO can someone tell me what your secret is because I like it here.

I live in Oak Grove which is the town next to Clarksville TN so If it is ok with ya'll I would like to come here.

Hi, You are more than welcome here, we are a support group and we support whoever needs the support.  The main thing that keeps this board "nicer" than some of the other boards is that we really do care about each other.  The folks closer to the Nashville area get together every month, so that they can actually put a face and name together.  When we see someone else in pain, we want to give them the support to make them better,  making them better makes each of us stronger. We are a support family, each of us has been there and done some of the things that everyone else is going through.  It is so much easier to go to someone for support when you know that they understand what is happening to you and will give you an honest answer. Again, welcome to the TN board, Darlene

Hello, and you are more than welcome to join us folks. We all do get along, and we are there for each other. I haven't been here very long myself, but have loved it ever since. We support each other no matter what, surgery, doctors, etc. We are all going through the same thing in one way or the other. So feel free to post, post, post, hope you enjoy it here.  We do plan get togethers twice a month and we have a Christmas Party planned for the 8th of December, consider this your and yours invite. Wish you the best of luck on your WLS journey. Cheryl.

You are very welcome to join us and the only secret I can tell you is that we actually know and understand what it is to have a "Support Group".  We all understand that the program, doctor, and procedure is an individual choice and we respect that of each other.  We enjoy each other and we know that we can share, "the good, the bad, and the ugly" and get honest supportive answers here.  We enjoy each others company so much, we get together on the second Saturday of each month for a Lunch Bunch, where we have lunch together and have a free clothing exchange.  Then last month, we began a Dinner Club, because not everyone's schedule would allow for them to attend the Lunch Bunch, the Dinner Club is meeting on the last Friday night of each month.  However, due to the holidays, we are having a Christmas Dinner and Ornament Exchange at Hickory Falls in Smyrna on December 8th, being sat at 8:30 until close.  We would love to have you join us and just see how wonderful this group actually is!!!! Welcome to the TN Board!!! Shelia

Welcome to the TN Board.  DItto to what the others have said before me.  I have found in the last 10 weeks that everyone is very supportive and helpful and it really doesn't matter.  I also noticed the "bad" vibes in the RNY Board and the main board too.  Please let us know if you need anything and best wishes for your upcoming surgery.

I do agree with the rest of them, I too have yet to have my surg. But that doesn't matter, whatever questions that I may have, they are there. Sometimes I feel that maybe it might sound alilttle strange, not them they take it with a grain of salt and tell me what I need to know. I really helps being able to put the face with the name. It is like a BIG O TEAM AS WELL AS A FAMILY.   Great fun!!! Everyone, has been in your shoes, and are at different stages. We  have some folks from that area. Hugs Barb

Thank You All so very much for your welcome. I have my surgery on Thursday I am not sure how I will be feeling on the 8th. How should I be feeling? I get released on the 3rd from the hospital (god willing) baring no complications. It would actually be kinda nice to be in a place where I can sit and drink(non alcoholic) with out someone saying whats wrong aren't you hungry. I really hate that. Why does every one always assume the fat girl is always hungry?

But I would actually love to come and meet you all.

Thanks for listening to my ramble. I think I am finally starting to get nervous.

I will keep you in my prayers and have someone let us know how you are doing, if they can post for you!!!   I know that the surgery itself was not too bad, however your energy level will be very low, so plan on taking care of yourself.  Most people complain about the gas and walking helps with this the most.  Make sure you sip, sip, sip, get in your protein and walk, these three things will really help your recovery!!!   If you have any other questions, someone here will help you out!!!  Glad you are going to join us on the board and maybe we will meet in person one day soon!! Hey, you little "hotmamawannabe" ~  First off, I just have to say that I love your name! That's great!        Next, let me say: "WELCOME TO THE TN BOARD"  I have only been here a few months myself, and I can't tell you what a huge part of this journey these folks have become! As a matter of fact, I woke up this morning and thought, "oh, man, today's not a Lunch Bunch day." I want to get together with them so bad. But only 2 more weeks until the Christmas party, so I guess I can hang on till then!   I'm sorry about the yuck on the other boards, but I can pretty much guarantee you won't find that here. Everything that has been expressed by the others is absolutely the way it is!  I see you're scheduled for surgery this coming Thursday! WOO-HOO! I'm thrilled for you! We have several that are having surgery between now and the end of the year, so there will be some going through it with you, some of us that are a few months out, and some that are very close to or at their goal --- all here to support YOU! And I'm sure we will all glean much from you, as well. Listen, we just got done with  a Thanksgiving mini-goal challenge, and will be doing a Christmas/New Year's one in the next day or so. So jump in with both feet and join us! Welcome ~ and before you know it, we will have to drop 1/2 of your name and just call you "hotmama"!! ~ Tara
