Finally

I posted back in September saying that my doctor had found a leak in my band apparatus. We tried every non-surgical fix available. Nothing actually worked for long. It seems that the hole was growing. Two months ago they requested a pre-cert approval from my insurance to replace the tubing connecting the port to the band. A fill under X-ray indicated that was the source of the leak. Yesterday insurance finally approved the replacement surgery. My surgery date is December19th. This is 9 months to the day after the original surgery. I'm just happy to finally get something done about it. I thought I was getting help 9 months ago. I hope I really get it this time. Another good thing about this is that since I met my total out of pocket for the year with the original surgery, I won't have to pay anything this time because it's still the same calendar year. I think that is perfectly right since it wasn't my fault in the first place.

Congrats Vanessa, hate to hear about your problems, but at least if will be corrected and fixed now. Also, a big plus is the out of pocket expense especially this time of the year. I am sure that you will be looking so forward to your Christmas present. Are you going to be at the party at Baptist? Best of luck to you and keep us posted. Cheryl

I didn't know anything about a party at Baptist. When and where? If possible I'd love to come.

Vanessa ~ There is a Christmas party at Baptist on Dec. 8th from 5pm-8pm. I believe it is "family friendly". The doctors and staff will all be there - and I believe they are mailing invitations out as well, so I think you'll be getting something in the mail with directions and specifics as to which room, etc. Also, we here on the Tennessee Board are getting together that evening - directly following Baptist's party - for our own Christmas party. We are meeting at Hickory Falls restaurant in Smyrna. It is right off of I-24 at Exit 66B. Turn left at the first light and you will see it on your left (right next to Famous Dave's). I believe they will be seating us at about 8:30p and we can stay till closing (11pm). This is an adult-only party, so we will all be getting sitters for the kiddos. Also, we are having an ornament exchange, so each person that would like to participate needs to bring an ornament to swap. Please come! We'd love to meet you! ~ Tara
