OT/ Anyone planning on shopping the day after Thanksgiving?
I actually have no desire to go, but my presence has been requested. We will be in the lovely town of Phenix City, and have been told we need to be ready to go by 4:30 a.m.! I do believe someone has lost their mind! No shopping stories! I have always had to work the day after Thanksgiving, this will be my first foray into the world known as "BLACK FRIDAY". Have fun!

My wife and I will be heading out again this year bright and early. We have for the past 10 years or so spent the day after Thanksgiving running around in the with the crowds. We are usually back home and safe by noon each year. The funny thing is now we typically end up buying more for ourselves or picking up requests from others who do not feel like getting out than we actually are shopping for Christmas, but oh well.
It is something LaRhonda and I look forward to each year. We will be somewhere by 5:00 waiting and meeting new friends.
For a sneak at the ads you can go to http://bfads.net/Adscans There are other stores who do not have scans but you can read the items they will have on sale. Those stores are on the left hand side of the page.
Best of Luck
I am considering it. I wanted to because I know about all the great sales but then I started making a christmas list and looking at the ads and I really can not find anything major that I need to go get. Maybe just go shopping some for me and my house. hehe.
I have went twice before. The first time was an experience. I was waiting outside the H'ville walmart at about 4 in the morning and it was freezing and drizzling a few years ago. I had never done it before so I did not know what to expect. Most people were trying to move up to get under the ledge of the building. one woman thought this other woman was trying to cut the line and they got into a bigh fight with even some shoving involved (and these weren't young women). Then when the doors open, the line you are in really did not matter and it was just a push fest. Then I tried to wait patiently in line for a cart and everyone was just going around me and pulling carts out of my hands and just going for it. That was so crazy. I never thought I would do it agian but I did two years later. I felt like a pro that time and had my plan and didn't let anyone stop me or get in my way. I learned really quick after the first visit that you can't be patient and nice. The holidays bring out the ugly in people. So, did I scare you yet??
It will be fine. It realyl is an experience that you should have and they do have some great sales. Just go with a list and plan. Hope you have fun.

Hubby and myself go every year along with my sis in law. We always have a ball. Great sales and everything. I have already scoped out the sales and have made out a list for every store we are planning on going to. Needless to say Wal Mart has the longest list. We always have fun doing this. You just can't be shy and quiet. Especially when the sale starts. If you want something you have to be right there to get it. That is in places like wally world. Hope you have fun!!!! Brenda
