Hello everyone. I just wanted you all to know that I went to Baptist today and met the wonderful girls that have been so talked about here. I am having the lap band procedure, instead of the Roux n y mainly because the doctor that can do my surgery doesn't do anything but Lap band. I think God has really showed me this is the route for me. Keep me in your prayers as I continue to go forward. :) Love and prayers for you all. Tina

Tina, The best advice I can give to you is to be sure you do whichever surgery is right for YOU. It is is YOUR decision which surgery to have. I had the Lap Band and am 100% behind my decision to go that route. The fact the surgery is a life long decision the choice must be yours. Do not settle on a procedure just because. I will support you no matter your choice. I just want you to know my opinion on your preop choices. I will be lifting you up in prayer for support during this phase of the process. Much Love

I totally agree with this!!! Do NOT settle for a procedure.  I love my band and it is the best decision for ME!  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hey Tina. It sounds like you are on track. The only thing that concenrs me is you saying that you are having lapband because it is the only surgery your surgeon does. I hope it is what you want. I stand behind either surgery. Both are great tools to lose weight and become healthy. You have to chose what is best for you and if you think that is lap-band, then that is great. But if you were really wanting the RNY, then you should pursue that. Don't be "forced" in to the lap-band. Either way, I am glad you are on track and I hope you can get a surgery date soon. Keep us updated!

Thanks so much ya'll. I did have reservations about the lap band until I talked to dawn and a sweet lady at Baptist (a patient). Unfortunatly I cannot have Roux n y with either centinnial or baptist. Those were my only two options. I would have had to have a bmi lower than 50 for the doctor at centennial to accept me (since I have medicare) and the doctor at baptist only does lapband that takes medicare at baptist. I did not want to have lap band in the beginning but I am realizing that it is going to be the best surgery for me. It is much less evasive and the healing time afterwards is much easier. I will just need to work that much harder to loose the weight after the surgery. It might take me a little longer to loose what I need to loose but I am not going to forgo having surgery because I cannot have the type I want. I need help and I see this as God's way of telling me He is taking care of my needs. I was scared about the Roux n y terribly...maybe this is just what was meant to be. Thanks so much... I would love to hear from fellow lap banders....just mail me your stories... The more the merrier! Tina
