I told myself I wouldn't do this, but I don't know where else to turn for support and information.  Tried the doc's office, but no response to the emails and didn't call because I was uncertain what to tell them. I'll start at the beginning.   Had my surgery on Sept. 26, all went well, when I went in for my checks the weight loss was slow and I had expected that because I have been following a high protien, low carb diet for a year now.  When I went in at 4 weeks I was only down 22 pounds, and that includes the ten I lost during the two week liquid diet...so really that 22 pounds was for 6 weeks instead of 4.  Dr. Dyer was perplexed about the lack of weight loss as was I.  I left the next day for Grenada and I suppose that was a mistake.  Dr. Dyer said it should be fine, but I had a lot of trouble finding foods I could eat, had difficulty getting my fluids in, and had a different kind of exercise than I am used to....sob story..it was 98 stair steps just to get down to the beach and another 20 up to the pool.  There are no elevators in that resort anywhere and I would have hated to have had a physical disability and been staying there.  Anyway, I think my problem is that I am in ketosis really heavily.  I went with my friend and her daughter and they had problems with the odors I am giving off, so when your friends tell you you stink,  YOU STINK!  I have bathed, used mouthwash, sugar free breath mints, and all the things I have used to combat this problem in the past and it is not helping.  I need advice, suggestions, or whatever kind of help you can provide.  Not good for a person's ego to be shunned by the folks who should be your support system!

wow...so much for relaxing on vacation huh?? :-) lol

After surgery, I went into ketosis, as I'm sure everyone did... My breath was horrid!! My husband complained constantly about my stinky breath and then it got worse... I found my true love... AchievOne Cappuccino...lord, they made it so much worse, but it didn't stop me hahaha. Eventually the further out I got, the more foods I started to incorporate back into my diet (higher carb veggies and fruits) the better it got.

So...basically, I really don't have any advice :-) but wanted to wish you the best of luck on your weight loss journey!

Before I had surgery, I read on this board,  to order some Devrom. It really works. Here's the site. https://www.devrom.com/devrom.asp GOD BLESS!

Hi Kathy. Congrats on your weight loss so far. Losing 22 pounds in 6 weeks is great. One thing I tried to do when I didn't think I was losing "enough" was take my measurements. I guarantee you if you take your measurements, you will find you are losing lots of inches. The  scale doesn't always tell you the whole truth. Keep up the great work.  I do not have any suggestions on the ketosis. I did not find anything to help me either. Hopefully someone will give you a solution. My other major problem with ketosis was that all food tasted nasty to me. That eventually changed but it took a while and I hated going through that. Just know it will not last forever.
