I thought she was kidding!!

I got a phone call yesterday from a lady I've gone to church with for 16 years, our daughters were in the youth group together. She sells Avon and always makes sure to let me know when they have a Cherished Teddy coming out since I collect them.  After we had talked about the Teddy she cleared her throat and told me she had a question that she wasn't quite sure how to ask. She wanted to know if my husband and I had split up!?!?!?!?! I thought she was kidding!!! I started laughing and when she didn't join in I realized she was serious. I asked her if she was wondering who that woman was that he was sitting with in church. She said she was wondering and asked if that was my daughter. I told her that was me and she asked if I had colored my hair because it just didn't look like me at all. I told her that at least my hubby was bringing his "other woman" to church. LOL She seriously did not know it was me!! We wound up having a good laugh about it. She said she was so relieved as she had really been worried that we had split up. I told her that after 34 years he wasn't getting rid of me that easily. This has been quite the week for wow moments. Right now I need them! Also - I saw the cardiologist for my follow up today. He said everything looks real good, no evidence of a cardiac episode. He had my July and October labs from my primary and said he saw there was improvement in my cholesterol and liver function between the 2 sets of labs. I don't have to go back to him unless I have another episode. Yippee!! FYI - My boss STILL has not said anything or asked about the trip to the ER on the day that he was out sick. Even when I let him know that I had this follow up appt today and when I finally got into the office after the appt. I know he knows about the trip because the supervisor who drove me to the ER works out with him and has lunch with him almost every day and they talk to each other several times a day. He also had to enter my hours of sick time into the time clock for payroll for the hours I missed. In the past he would have asked if everything was alright, just like I would (and still do) when he is sick. We used to even discuss his dogs' trips to the Doggie Spa.

Definately a WOW moment Susan!  I know that has to make you very happy knowing that the old you is gone and the New you is shining out!    As for the boss thing.. not sure what to tell you.  You sound a tad puzzled on his reactions and not saying anything.  All I can say.. maybe he is dealing with work issues.   Anywho, keep up the great work!  You have been an inspiration to me with your results and your knowledge on different issues dealing with WLS.  Thank you maam Rob

Susie Q Glad to hear that things turned out good at the cardiologist.  We were all worried! As for the boss...  I hope you are able to find a new job soon.  Then it is he who will be taking a trip to the emergency room...  he cant do all that work on his own! bwahahaha That is hilarious that the lady thought you were the "other woman"! haha!!!!  Well at least you  know that the other woman is just as gorgeous as you, and vice versa.

That is so funny Susan. I bet it feels great though to know you have changed so much. I am glad you have some good news from the cardiologist, I was worried about you. Oh by the way another WIOW for you. I was showing some girls at work the picture form the dinner and they all pointed at you and said goodness she is Tiny! She looks fabulous and they all had a hard time believing you ever needed to have the surgery. Hope that brightens your day a little.

Thank you so much for sharing that with me. That has certainly started my day off on a bright note. It is still so hard for me to deal with people calling me tiny. Please thank them for the huge compliment.

Susan ~ So now do we call you "Susie 2" instead of "Susie Q"? You know, John just turned 39. I told him next fall when he turns 40 and I am "skinny", that buddy, "I will be your mid-life crisis." mm-hmm, mm-hmm So thankful to hear about your doctor visit/lab results, but NO MORE EPISODES, K? K! And regarding your boss, sounds like you may have "another couple hundred pounds" to lose, if you know what I mean. So sorry for your situation. You just keep being YOU  - our bubbly, sweet Susan, and don't let him get you down... ~ Tara
