first let me say I saw the dinner pics.  I am feeling sad and leftout.  I had a college friend come from out of state so Tim  & I couldn't come...   boo hoo.  Ya'll dressed up so nice and pretty (women) and looked exceptionally handsome (men).  Our Saturday luncheons are casual and has a difference ambience/setting.   I was sad to have missed it!!! Anywhooooo.....  it leads me to this.  Several of us had discussed having a Christmas special.  We could all get dressed up and maybe bring a secret santa gift or dirty santa or whatever it is...  and meet somewhere.  Susan had some good ideas... havent heard yet if we are going to. SSOOOOO... Susie Q...  what do you suggest?  I want to get dressed up and celebrate our wonderful successes together...  we have so much to share and be thankful for as we have journeyed this long weight loss trip together....

I mentioned it before and people were thinking about getting together and go to the symphony or TPAC, but I think that It would be great if we could make arrangements to meet together somewhere and have an Dirty Santa ornament swap, dress up, dinner, and socialize for a while.  Does anyone have any suggestions about catering, bringing a dish, or a place that would be private so we could enjoy each other for several hours???????????

How about one of the nice restaurants in Opryland Hotel?? I don't know if they have meeting rooms per sae, but it would be something to check into???

Oh and there are lots of great areas to take nice pictures.

I agree with Shelia, somewhere to chit chat with and exchange gifts would be awesome. Opryland would be great, but I wonder how expensive it would be? As far as dressing up, well that is cool as long as it is not too too dressy. I am not a real dressy kinda of girl, at least not yet. Let's all put our heads together and surely we can come up with something that will work for all of us. We will be out of town the 18-22 of December, but other than that, we are open.............Cheryl

Opryland is a marvelous venue but remember that you will have to pay for parking in addition to the meal.  As for rooms, unless someone has a good connection, they charge an additional fee.  It is a lovely place to have a dinner if we are all willing to fork over the cash.  There is also the Rockettes Christmas Show if anyone is interested.  I have held several conferences there and they certainly have everything you could want.

Got another idea, does anyone know how much it cost to rent one of those party buses?  We could ride around have dinner, go to Opryland, see Christmas lights, and have a night on the town in style, like we all deserve!!!

I used to work in Opryland Hotel's Reservations and I do know they have a department that handles group rates on venues such as the General Jackson, rooms, and such. If you like I could call and see if they have any "package deals" for a group.

This has nothing to do with the post...  but someone brought up the rockettes and I would love to see them. Also Pam Tillis will be there this year and its a dinner then a show.  But that might be too pricey.

The rockettes are pretty pricey I would say. I would absolutely love to see them though. The bank I work at hosts a  ladies trip for all of our "goldcrest" lady members. We were going to see the rockettes but the tickets were pretty pricey and that would have been for a large group discount. We're going on the general jackson instead. With it being close to christmas, I know a lot of people won't be able to come up with any extra money. I know I won't, especially trying to get ready for Nick's arrival. It is so hard planning these kind of events around the holidays.

I like the idea of looking at Christmas lights at Opryland.... I have NEVER done that!

Speaking of getting together, the second saturday of November is just right around the corner. Any suggestions as to where everyone would like to get together?? I'm really looking forward to it lol I haven't been able to come as consistently as I like and I miss seeing you guys once a month and meeting all the new faces!
