Well, I went back to work this last Monday and made it the whole day, Tuesday was half a day and I decided that I should not go back the rest of this week.  Even though it has been two weeks since the surgery it has only been one week out of the hospital and I don't feel up to going to work yet.  This make me feel bad because their is nothing to my job at this time of year.  Am I just being a baby, should I just suck it up and deal with it?? Your thoughts oh wise ones. Thanks KIm

You had a rough start on your recovery. Even without that, I would say, listen to your body. If it is telling you to take it a bit slower, then do it.  I went back to work 12 days post op but only half days. I have an office job and my boss was very protective of my energy level. He did all of my running for me. They even kept my phone transferred for someone else to answer so no one even knew I was on campus. I would come in, do a few hours of computer work and slip off campus again. Even then, there were days that my boss would look at me and tell me to stay home the next day because he felt I had done too much. (I was still getting paid short term disability for any hours I was not on the clock) I worked 1/2 days for about 2 - 3 weeks before trying full-time. Then I alternated full-time and 1/2 time for another week. Hey, things were slow and they were willing to work with me. My boss said he was afraid of me overdoing and winding up needing to be out completely. It was self preservation on his part. LOL Give yourself time honey. Your energy will come back and then you will be unstoppable!
