Last week at our Baptist support group meeting, Sweet Susan Jones shared some of her private stash of AchievOne with the group.  God bless Susan Jones!  I had forgotten how much I loved AchievOne!!!  A little later Sheila told a story about how she mixed up something that, to her, mimicks the flavor.  What a wonderful idea! This morning, I decided to attempt a mock AchievOne myself.  It isn't the same but it is pretty darn yummy and with a substantial kick of caffiene!  You can substitute decaf french roast if you don't want the "kick." I hope that you like it! 8 oz. Micellar Milk (I used vanilla) 2 teaspoons instant espresso powder 1 Tablespoon vanilla hazelnut sugar free syrup 1 Tablespoon DaVinci sugar free chocolate sauce 1 Tablespoon Hoods Calorie Countdown Chocoate Dairy Drink 1 Tablespoon International Delights sugar free hazelnut creamer Mix it up and put it in the freezer until it is really cold.  Enjoy! Have a great day! Freddie

Freddie,  Sounds great,  where do you get the espresso powder?  The micellar milk sounds so much better then what I have tried to do with the any whey and adding instant coffee and skim milk or water and splendia this sounds like it will work out much better for me I just need the espresso powder. Hi Annrenee! I got the espresso powder at Harris Teeter grocery.  I feel sure that you could just use instant coffee like Taster's Choice.  I just really like the bitterness of espresso.  Do a search online...the brand is Ferrera (or something like that.) I hope you like it!  I didn't like the flavor of Any Whey.  Everyone says that you can't taste it but I can.\ :)  Have a great day! Freddie

I like AchievOne when I can get it.  There are several good powders, too.  I enjoy the Whey Gourmet line that you can get on bariatriceating.com.  I also like Matrix Perfect Chocolate (you can get it locally at the Vitamin Shoppe.)  I like Gladiator protein from Smoothie King.  I used to love those smoothies pre-op but now the ones they make at the store have too much sugar for me.  I buy the powder and make my own with fresh fruit and splenda.  Delicious!   By the way, if you are looking for something delicious...try the cheesecake crepes from the bariatriceating.com recipe site.  I made them today and they are absolutely fabulous!  Two cheesecake crepes gives you 16 grams of protein for 180 calories.  YUMMY! I also made the Chili Relleno Puff.  Also fabulous!!!!  It is way high in protein (36 grams I think) and oh so much tastier than a shake! Let me know if you try any of this. Freddie

Hi Scott! I'm looking forward to seeing you, Beth and RJ at the next lunch bunch!  Before then though...you simply must try these recipes.  They are available in the recipes section of bariatriceating.com.  They are under the heading "Glorious Food"...do a search at the bottom of the page. The cheesecake crepes are nothing short of fantastic.  The look beautiful and taste incredible.  You won't believe that they are good for you.  I am going to have one for breakfast this morning. My husband is the pickiest eater I know.  He loved the Chili Relleno Puff!  There are several recipes on the bariatriceating.com site.  I used the one that Linda Farnsworth came up with.  I think that she is a fantastic cook.   If you can't find them...holler and I will PM them to you. Happy Sunday! Freddie
