I would think the same rule would apply for you as RNY patients. Mainly, keep following your program and the weight loss will kick in again. It's not unusual to hit a stall. If the scales isn't moving, check the fit of your clothes. Are you losing inches? Most of us will find that we continue to lose inches even if the darn scales don't move.  It's like the body goes into a kind of starvation mode where it hangs on to everything. Then, suddenly, the body realizes you have not changed anything and it decides to let go and you have a big loss on the scales. I can't explain it, I just know it happens. Keep drinking your water and eating the way you've been instructed and the weight will come off.

Hi. I think platues are normal regardless of surgery type and I know they are very discouraging. How far out from surgery are you? I am also a RNY patient but like Susan said, it is pretty much the same suggestions. I would make sure you are uping your protein and fluid intake. Make sure you are waiting to drink for at least 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after eating.  And make sure you are taking all required vitamin supplements. If you up your protein, fluid and vitamins and cut back on any extra snacking or carbs that should help you get over your plateau. You may want to check in on the lap band forum also to see what they have to say. Good luck.

For information on lap band.. you need to go to the lap band forum and post all your questions there... most all on all the other boards are RNY as this is still consdered the "gold standard" but lap band is catching up by leaps and bounds everyday ..simply go to the top of this page that says  Forums    then scroll down till you see lapband  You will enjoy it  they are a lively helpful group  and fun too, . in response to your question, you  did not give any information about yourself ..we all have platues in between losing weight as our bodies need time to rest  and catch up. RNY patients are vastly different than lap band patients  they come out of surgery with a one ounce stomach and we come out of surgery with a full size stomach ..  it is thur fills that we slowly get restriction ... we also do not "dump" andwe do not have malabsorbtion ,thus we lose weight much slower and also have more plateaus.  Hope to see you soon in the lap band forum!!!
