Walk From Obesity - calling the Lunch Bunch
We will meet at the railing between the 2 sets of steps leading down into the seating area of the park. I'm going to make a sparkly, wand-like thingy to wave around so you'll know it's us. I can't tell you the colors right now because I have to go to the craft store and see what I can find. I'll post the colors later tonight for those online later.
We have not decided on a lunch location for after the walk. I'm not all that familiar with restaurants in the downtown area. We don't want anything too expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions? I do know there is a Chili's and a Logan's near Vanderbilt campus. What else is downtown that will work well for all of us?
Bring a sweatshirt girlies (and Scott). Last year it was cold at the start of the walk.
I would like to issue one more invitation to join us. Even if you have not signed up for the walk. You can join the morning of the walk and still get a tshirt and goody bag, or you can just show up and walk with us.
Speed doesn't matter. We will have people walking at different speeds. Some will be jackrabbits and some will be turtles. There will be someone to walk with you whatever pace you choose. The main idea is to have a good time and promote awareness for the treatment and prevention of obesity.
Size doesn't matter. We will have pre-ops, post-ops and non-ops of all shape, size and age. Again, the idea is to have a good time.
Registration starts at 9:30 and the walk starts at 10am. Even if you have registered online, you need to go to the registration table to pick up your shirt and goodie bag.
