bladder issues

Hey all (especially ladies),  If anyone has experienced this please let me know, but the past two weeks, I've been having incresed urination (almost like overactive bladder).  With that has come severe exhaustion, achy muscles, and just recently...increased thirst.  What could be going on, I'm kind of worried, that my body may not be absorbing the nutrients due to my going to the bathroom about 10 times a day.  I'm getting my water in and protien.  So does anyone know what could be the problem?  Thanks,  Alyssa P.S. I'll have my alarm set for the walk...I promise!

I am known around here as madam pees a lot...but I'm pregnant so unless your pregnant, I have no clue what could be your issue unless you're getting in more liquids than you realize. I wouldn't worry about not getting enough nutrients... urine is a waste product...waste as in, your body doesn't need it :-D The only other thing that I can think of is diabetes...but that would be odd since weight loss surgery usually alleviates diabetes, not cause it??? I hope you find out soon or feel better, whichever comes first :-) Take care!

Alyssa,         Contact Dr. Spaw and/or your PCP, these are sign of Diabetes as well, have you had problems with this in the past or have a way to monitor your blood sugar?  Get this checked into quickly!!! I'm with Shelia, were you a diabetic before the surgery? The overactive bladder could be from drinking so much fluid.  But the other things could be just about anything.  Bloodwork would be able to tell you more.hugs017.gif image by tngirl59Barb

Hey lady...please ask that your thiamine and potassium get checked...this was a lot like what I went through recently and I was low on both!

Pre-surgery weight: 316  Current weight: 122

Hey girls, Thanks! I wasn't diabetic before surgery. Although in 2003-04 I did have dysmetabloic syndrome and had to be on glucophage.  Kym, you may have something on the thiamine and potassium someone suggested that as well.  I'm calling Dr. McDowell today and hopefully I can get a doctor's appointment soon.  I'll be there for the walk though and have my cheering squad ready to come.  See you all Saturday.   -Alyssa
