13 days to go

Hey everyone, I'm counting down.  I go Friday to do my pre-op for my thigh surgery on Oct. 2.  Now it's starting to sink in that it's actually going to happen.  I am so happy that I'm a Veteran.  Otherwise I would never have been able to get the tummy tuck or my thighs done.  Not too many Plastic surgeons accept Medicare as they don't get prior authorization for the surgery.  They want to make sure they are going to get paid.  Medicare won't pay for the reconstruction, and Medicaid will pay what Medicare won't but the Dr.'s won't take that chance and I couldn't afford it.  So thank God for VA Medical Centers.   Love y'all

I had the tummy tuck in April.  Now for the thighs.  I can't wait.  Then I can get me some smaller jeans.  All the jeans I have are too big in the waist but barely will go over the thighs.  I got this really pretty pink skirt and jacket last spring.  I couldn't fasten the skirt because of my tummy.  Since I started walking again over the last couple of weeks, tonight I was able to finally zip the skirt.  It's a 6 petite.  Yes yes yes.  It's more of a early spring or fall suit.  Pink and white diamond checked, the skirt is straight until the hips then it's pleatted.  I love it.

I will bring some over with me, some of the items are dressy clothes like for working or church. Some are just plan play clothes.  Sizes are 14-28.  There are shorts, 2 medium mens shirts, a red leather jacket, slacks, shorts.  Size 10 tennis shoes, and size 10 in heels, worn once.  By me.  I lost 2 shoe sizes when I lost my weight.  Let you know when I am coming.  It will either be on the 6th of Oct. or the 11th.  I'll be in that area until the 19th.

Kathy, I am so proud for you to be getting these plastics done.  I also and glad that you are getting this paid for.  God know that will help out.  Keep us posted, it will be here before you know it.   I think if I could fit in that size 6 suit, I wouldn't care if it was Christmas morning, I would be sporting that joker around town.  LOL Congratulations on the smaller size and the upcoming event. Hi Darlene, thank you.  I have been able to wear size 4-6 in skirts since spring time, it's just this skirt had been altered and now I can wear it.  Too bad I don't have anything planned for my birthday next week.  I'm no longer the flavor of the month, I have been replaced with a heavier blond as the flavor of the week with the hottie next door.  But I still have a few of my tricks I haven't used in a longgggggggggggggg time, I need to get them out and dust them off.  I plan on getting a lot of wear with this suit.  Just about the knees, and looks really sexy with my black heels.  I have red heels too that I bought just like the black ones to wear with this one outfit at Christmas time.  I plan on having some fun after my thighs heal.  OUCH. Walking bull legged isn't my cup of tea.  Luckily I have a scooter now as I won't be allowed to walk much except in my home for the first 6 weeks.  I get registered on Friday morning.  Then I will find out all the rest of the details. Love ya

Thank you, down to one week from next Tuesday.  Just got home from the VA Medical Center in Nashville, had to have the normal blood work and EKG done, go over my medications, allergies, and talk with the sleep Dr.  As of right now, I am to be at the hospital at 6am on Oct. 2.  They will call the day before to let me know for sure, but as it stands I am first on the books.  This time my purse will not be left at home as I will be taken there by the transportation van and my son will be bringing me home.  Just in case I am admitted like I was in April, I will have my purse there as I have to take my Paxil and Chemo medications and the VA doesn't carry them.  Plus I carry my Dilada and Phenergan in my purse.  So I don't end up like the last time not getting anything for pain, and not be put on oxygen like I'm supposed to do.  I also informed them I have to have a xopenex breathing treatment before being put to sleep so that my oxygen levels don't drop like last time.

I'm getting excited.  My birthday is on Tuesday and one week later I'll be getting the ole thighs done.  It's actually going to happen after I got registered today.  I'm on the books now, where I wasn't prior until all the T's are crossed and the I's dotted.  I will still have a ton of paperwork to sign when I get there.  Without paperwork where would our government be????  Probably in better shape, no paper trails just the computer.

Best of luck in the saving department for your reconstructive surgeries.  I'll be 54 and I can't make ends meet living on disability, so there's no way I would have been able to save enough just for the tummy, let alone the thighs.  I'd be probably dead by the time I saved the amount needed.

Love ya
