Well for those of you keeping up with plastic surgery and tummy tucks... I had mine, it will be 4 weeks on Thursday.  And, I still have that dag gone blasted drain tube in. I cannot stand it, and its killing me, and I hate it, and did I mention I hate it?  It hurts.  It pulls, it pinches, and I am talking the pubic region so there ya go.  I am pleased with the excess skin being gone gone gone.  I can see my pubic hair now where before, ok I am gonna be honest, I couldn't.  Why lie? I am just gonna tell it like it was.  So now I can look down and say, "Hey, I'm still a woman.  After all, I can see my self."  Before I thought I had become part of some weird society of people who lose their privates.  Some sort of birth defect or something that happens much later in life. But then the swelling.... and I am talking in the mid belly section.  Oh my Lord I am not even gonna lie.  The swelling has been awful.  It makes me feel fat.  It is mentally draining.  So on to the therapist I went... talking about how none of my pants fit anymore... how the scale number went up... .  But I am assured that this is all normal and within 6 mos, it should all be better.  OK Had to get that off my chest.   I am hoping and praying that I can get that drain tube out by week's end.  Or, by Weds. That would make me happier

Hey sweetie, the drain tube I can understand.  I had two when I came home. In the pubic area and they didn't shave that area.  The right tube had to come out within a week as it wouldn't drain, but drained on the outside.  The left one was left in for 3 more weeks.  UGH.  Itchy.  I am still a little swollen on the left side but can't wear that binder, I couldn't breath with it on.  By the way, the pubic hair from the chemo as well as my natural head of hair is coming in almost white like it was when I was a child.   I'm glad I still have that little tiny bit of flab still, makes it easier to give myself 2 allergy shots tonight.  The B-12 goes into my thigh twice a month.  I still another month regarding my tummy tuck, but in just 14 days I will be having my thighs done.  Can't wait. Went to put on a pair of jeans on the other day my size 8's, between walking and the tummy tuck they were too big, but I had to struggle to get them over the thighs.   Are you going to do the Walk for obesity?  I had planned on it, but my oncologist has grounded me.  One reason, is my blood counts are too low, and until I have it checked again on the 28th, I'm not even allowed to go out walking in the evenings.  Second reason, is being in a large crowd as this is the cold/flu season and I would be too exposed even wearing my mask and gloves to protect myself.  They are already giving out flu shots so I have to get mine.  With the walk on the 29th, and my thigh surgery on Oct. 2, the surgeon nor my oncologist wants me to take any chances.   Start putting on Cocoa Butter with Vitamin E (Wal-marts Palmer brand) on your scar from the tummy tuck, mine is almost totally disappeared.  I use it all over my skin and has really helped keep the aging in the face, neck, calves and arms from getting so wrinkled.  My skin was really dry until I started using that.  I keep two small ones for my purse and overnight bag.  It's great for minimizing the scarring.   Going to go watch Cold Mountain before I give it back to my son.  Nice to have sons around with a great colection of DVD's since mine is still in storage.   Love ya

Wow. 4 weeks for the drain tube. Is that normal or is that just something you personally had to do. Just curious in case I ever decide to go through with it. I don't know anything about drain tubes but I know I do not want one and if I do, I would hope it is not for 4 weeks.  You back to normal? When were you ever normal.
