Hi everybody. I got my band on March 19, 2007. Everything has been great except that I had not been losing weight utnil this week, when my doctor discovered that some part of my band has a leak and eveyrthing he has put in has leaked out. Right now I'm looking for support from somebody that can at least empathize with my fears. I can't find a suppoer group meeting that meets before this coming Thursday and I'm about ready to scream. At first I was so realieved that the lack of weight loss really wasn't my fault, but now I'm becoming depressed because of the fear of what may be coming in efforts to fix the problem. If there is anybody out there willing to chat back, I'd appreciate it. Vanessa

Good Morning and Welcome!   First let me say welcome to the TN board!  Second, you are not alone here.  Many of us can empathize with you and some have probably gone through what you are going through.  Hang tough!  As for a support group meeting, is Thursday a magic day or did you just pick it at random?  I ask because the Centennial group will meet next Tuesday at 6 p.m. and is a great group.  I usually go, but can't this time because of football (team mom and all).  The dh will be there as do some people who did not use Centennial for surgery.  They are open to all.  RNY and Lap.  If you need anything, please ask on this board, you will get great responses. Welcome! Beth

Sorry to hear of the problems. Has Dr. Spaw said anything about how he will resolve the problem? You might want to post this on the LabBand forum too. I'm sure there are people there who have experienced the same problem and can give you more information. Don't leave us though! We are here for you too!!

The first step to resolving the problem was to fill with a special solution that has the ability to seal small holes. We did that on Thursday. If that doesn't do it, he'll have to inject dye and put me under X-Ray to detent the leak. Then there will be a procedure to fix the leak by replacing either the port, the tubing or the band itself, depending on where the leak is exactly. So far, I have felt restriction longer than I ever have before, except for the week immediately following surgery. He said I'm only his 3rd patient to ever have this particular problem and it was one of those possibilities thay told me about at the beginning. I will see you Thursday. I want that ticker at the bottom like everybody else has. How do I do it? Vanessa
