Bonding Time....Seeking An Angel

Hello all,

As some of you know I'm currently on my 6 month diet and well into my 5th month. I really didn't realize it until Ithought about it good. I now have less than 2 months to go and I am seeking an angel. I am just so overwhelmed whith how time has flown that I can hardly believe it. It's like I just started dieting yesterday. I have found so many friendly people here. This is without a doubt my refuge when I seek comfort/shelter and need to talk. If I had to choose I'd probably choose
everyone that has walked the WLS road but I will instead wait for some humble volunteer(s). I obviously pluralized the word because sometimes I can be such a mess..........LOL You are more than welcomed to PM me or just leave me a message.

Diane

I'm not fat, I'm just wearing my parent's fat jeans (genes). I plan to pull 'em off and put 'em in the dryer and shrink 'em up soon

Hey Freddie,

Thanks for your reply! I find myself here almost around the clock some days just reading. You know what they say knowledge is power and I have really been cramming it in. I even read the regrets board so I've kind of been around the site good. I am looking at having GB. A lot of people in the past asked me if I was going to get the GB or the band and with my BMI and my history of obesity I think that GB or even the DS would be the wisest decision for me. One of those two tools would be my choice. I have been a lurker in a lot of the forums because I want to read and not say anything, sometimes I think that's best. I would appreciate any first hand experiences that some have encountered. Did any of you record your journey to look back on?! I'd love to do that.

I talked to Dr. Dyer's office when I started my 6 month pre-op diet and I was told to call them back when my diet was over so that they could schedule an appointment. So, I'm looking for close friends to bond and journey with.

You are very wise to educate yourself on this decision.  Personally, I would get Susan Maria Leach's book (you can get it at the bookstore or on her website, bariatriceating.com).  Read it cover to cover!  There is another book called Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies.  This is another Must Read!  You will learn so much about what to expect and what you can and can't do.  The WLS for Dummies book will also help you explain to your friends and family what this surgery is (including pictures!)  Susan Maria's book is kind of an all in one.  She kept a journal and also shares lots of wisdom that that she has gained over the past six years as a post op.  If nothing else, at least go onto the bariatriceating.com site and read through their messageboard.  It helped me so much! Good luck, sweetie! Freddie
