I just called this drs office for help...HE WILL NOT SEE ME!!!!!! My original surgeon in in New York.....was in Boston. I live in Marion AR, trying to be seen for follow ups.....THIS DR REFUSES TO SEE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a shame. This is not what a DOCTOR is......

That just doesn't make sense. It's not like you had surgery with another doctor in Memphis and want to change. Your original surgeon is several states away for goodness sake! What are you supposed to do, travel back to Boston for follow ups? If you were closer to Nashville, I know there are doctors who would see you. I can't help with any recommendations in the Memphis area.

do you think if you contacted yor boston doctor, that he would be able to give you a referral? chances are highly unlikely but it would be wortha try that he knjows someone in the area?? I guess I would call everyone I would find in your area and tell them you have to get some follow up... Good luck!

How crazy is this? I might contact my insurance company (member services) and let them do the leg work in finding me a new doctor. I feel sure that they will be able to help you. Good luck! Freddie

thank you to everyone *****plied....I am butting heads with a couple drs. I feel it is very unethical and this needs to be corrected. What if I were to have problems???? Do I take and ambulance to New York??? Lots of people have had surgery any surgery and swicth drs due to a variety of things. Maybe this dr thinks his crap does not stink.....well maybe he should read my drs background. I hate to be rude....but I am very frusterated. thanks Tammy

Hi Tammy, Dr. Woodman is my doctor. While he is an excellent surgeon, he is a (to put it mildly) a jerk.. He has a stinky attitude and my first visit with him I left in tears. He made me feel like I was a total failure as a person. But I have to put up with his crap because he is the only that my insurance will pay for. Have you tried Virginia McGarth-Weaver in Memphis? She is with St. Francis Hosptial. Lisa

Good morning Tammy I live in Savannah Tn .. so it is about the same distance for me to go to Memphis or Nashville I choose Nashville hands down ... But I sure understand the attitude some of these surgeons have ... like they think they can walk on water many are out of touch with "common people" and reality ... ((((HUG))) how are you feeling??? I never had any pain or gas at all from my surgery got up took a shower,washed my hair could not wait till hubby called me get me out of there the next morning!!!! I am on in the lapband forum where there are several of us who had the band from Tennessee We talk about all our problems ,successes and of course everything else, recipes, jokes , relationships etc!!
