Hi Justin and welcome. There are only 2 hospitals in Nashville that takes Americhoice, one being Vanderbilt and I'm not sure of the other as I have never heard of it. I know Stonecrest in smyrna takes Americhoice, but they don't do the surgeries. The Dr.'s at the Smyrna stonecrest hospital and the physicians there won't even accept Amerigroup because that program won't pay or will only pay just a little on the bill and you're stuck having to fork out the rest. Americhoice is the same as TennCare, but it's the type of TnCare that you have. Mine is Tn State Medicaid because I drew SSI during the year of 2000.
Sounds like you are going to only be going thru Vandy. I wish you the best regarding having to go thru all the procedures you will have to go thru with Americhoice. Right now they confusing a lot of people in the Central part of TN. I know I've been confused about this new form of medicaid.
This is the best board in finding new friends, getting support, prayers, and plus we all get together in this area for lunch on the 2nd Saturday of each month. They are held in Cool Springs area in Franklin. Not only will you get to make friends easier then just on line, but you learn about the proteins, maybe a new idea how to make the protein shakes, we have free clothing that we have outgrown. This way you get to have fun and still learn from the post ops what to expect. They're held at 1pm, so watch the messages regarding where we will meet for our lunch. Men do come too.
May God travel with you on this journey.
Kathy
