Posting about Kym from her computer

Hello, my name is Julie and I am friend of Kym's.  I am posting an update on her since I know she has many friends here.  Kym's surgery went a little longer than expected but was still only a couple of hours.  Her doctor did not find a hernia but he did cut out lots of scar tissue and he told her father that he found some "massive adnesions" that could have been causing her the pain.  He did a scope and her pouch is perfect so that is good news.  Kym is having a very hard time right now as she lost her voice from having the two tubes down her throat.  She is extremely sore due to the gas from surgery moving up and settling into her shoulders.  The pain she is suffering from most right now is in her shoulders.  She is nearly crying with every move so I am concerned.  Right now, she is very sick to her stomach and I cannot get her to eat anything.  She just keeps telling me that she has no desire to eat.  I did get her to drink one of those Acheive drinks in her fridge and I think she said it has a lot of protein in it.  Kym can be a very determined person so I know she is frustrated that this pain from a relatively simple surgery has her so down so I am really afraid that she is getting a little depressed.  I just wanted to post her status and ask for everyone to pray for her.  She also keeps asking me to find out how "Mel" is...I am assuming this is Melinda/??  If so, Kym is concerned for her.  She is going kind of in and out with her pain medicine so I have trouble understanding all she say.  In my opinion, she was released from the hospital too soon.  I know she loves her doctor but he didn't even talk to Kym after the surgery, just her dad.  I am going to stay with Kym for a couple of more days since she is hurting so badly and her husband, Eddie is having to work praticly around the clock.  If anyone would like to give a message to her I will be having to pass it on to her. 

Hi Julie,   Thanks for the update on Kym.  Tell her I'm so sorry she feels crappy.  But hopefully she got everything fixed and it will all be uphill from here.  There is no such thing as a "simple" surgery.  Each and every one has it's complications and recovery time.  Tell her to be patient with herself and make sure she gets in her fluids and protein.    Melinda is doing well.  She posted earlier (a few before this one) and said she was back at home.  I'm sure she will respond to this post when she sees it.   Tell Kym we are all thinking about her and praying she recovers quickly.                     ~~Elena  

Hi Julie, tell her the pain in her shoulder is just from the gas that was used to  separate everything so they could see what was going on.  It will pass in a day or so.  She's in my thoughts and prayers, and so happy that it was just adhesions and nothing major.  Get well, kym, we miss you.   Get well, sweetie, see you soon.  Love

Hi, Julie.  We've heard alot about you... I'm glad that you are there to help Kym and please tell her that we have had her in our thoughts and prayers.  Mel (me = Melinda)... tell her that I am doing fine.  A bit sore but probably nothing on the pain scale-ometer that she is!  I hope she gets to feeling better soon.  Things went well for me in surgery and I went home the same day.  I have some soreness and burning but that is to be expected. I hope that the doctor gave her some good pain medicine and she is able to get through this quickly.  And, hlpefully the adnesions were the cause of her pain.  I will call her later in the week... 

Please let Kym know we are all thinking of her and praying for her recovery. Kim

Hey Julie,  Thanks for the updates on Kym!  Please tell her our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.  It's rough being the person who has to go to work.  As a husband, I know how hard it is!  My prayers are also with you!  I'm sure Kym has been blessed by your presence and comfort.  I am just glad she has someone like you in her life.  And please don't hesitate...If you need to call the Dr., you do it!  We will help you deal with Kym!
