Update on what happened today

I called the doc's office and they paged Dr. Houston.  He told them to get me up there for a ct scan asap.  So I hightailed it to Nashville with my Dad to make it to the imaging office by noon.  Had to drink the barium smoothie and have the contrast ran through for the scan.  On my order, they had noted that I needed to wait for the disc and take it to Dr. H's.  When I got to the office however, Dr. H wasn't there and wasn't going to be there until tomorrow.  So I can home, in pain, to wait.  Now I am not sure what I am supposed to do...wait on them to call me or call them again?  I tried to eat finally around 3pm...tried a scrambled egg...I got it down but it made me so sick I couldn't stand up.  When I got home, I laid down for about an hour.  I had a Girl Scout Leader's meeting tonight I made it through but I still have not eaten anything else.  I am so sick...so I figured it up and I have had a total of 100 grams of protein since, and including, Thursday.  I am not whining, just frustrated.  I have my second appt. with Dr. Hubbard in the morning so I am going to call Holly after that is over and find out what I am supposed to do now.  I am really worried that they will tell me that the scan showed nothing wrong and that I just have to deal with it.  I had two more "attacks" tonight and it is getting harder and harder to convince Eddie that I don't have to go to the hospital.  It wouldn't help to do so since by the time I got out there the attack would be over.  I just wish I knew what the heck this was so I could do whatever it takes to fix it.   Well, that's all that happened today, so I am still just waiting.  Please everyone say a prayer about my appt with Dr. Hubbard tomorrow that I get the new I am praying for...that he can do the surgery and fix my back issues.  What a miracle...I know it will be a lot of pain, but I can handle it.  Heck, with all of you guys supporting me like you always do...I can handle anything!

Hey Kim, I'm so very sorry you are going through all of the pain and discomfort. I'm sure that Dr. H. will contact you to let you know something. Sounds like you may have a stricture or something. I can't imagine you having all of this pain and it be nothing.  Girl, you hang in there. You have been through so much now, Don't get discouraged! Kym, I am really worried about you sweetie. I really hope they get some answers soon. It does sound like a stricture maybe. I just hope they are able to help you and get you out of pain. I am rooting and also praying for you. Let us know what they say ok? Juanita

Oh Kym. I am sorry you are still having to go through this. Hang in there and take it easy. I would say go to the ER. They have to treat you then and run more test and see what is going on. It may be easier for them to do the test during the "attacks" so it would show. Do not be afraid to go to the hospital/ER. It is good to work with your DR and let  them try and figure it out but if you get really sick in the process (and it sounds like you are) then you just need to go in. Being deydrated and malnutritioned will surely make anything wrong with you worse. You need to be there on IV fluids if nothing else. I really hope they figure it out and you get to feeling better soon.

Kym......Girl...you gotta find out what's going on. I can't imagine how your family is feeling too. LEt us know. I'm praying for answers. Beth B. in Chattanooga

Kym, Please don't wait about seeing doc Houston--or any doc for that matter!  Go on to the ER if you need to.  At least they can give you fluids/meds through an IV to help you feel better! Just worried about you! Rhonda

Bless your sweet little heart!  I am so so sorry that you are going through so much pain!  I think that I would be on the phone to Dr. Houston several times just to remind him that you are in pain.  I agree with Rhonda...go to the ER and see if they can identify something during the attack.  I'm just so sorry!
