WLS cookbook

We have talked about this and I think it is something we need to do. Anyone who wants to contribute a WLS friendly recipe, whether it's for pureed stage, soft, regular, or a shake, main entree, dessert, whatever...email it to me and I will compile our book. I have a place I can get them printed and bound very cheaply. I would love to have this ready by our October luncheon. So, put on your thinking caps and email your favorites to [email protected].  Please try to include serving size, calories, protein grams, carb grams and fat grams. If you can't get all of this info, I can plug your recipe into my fitday program and get it. The name of the contributor will be listed with each recipe. I would love to have a section of food suggestions for the new op. This would include protein shakes as well as pureed foods. What protein brand do you use and how do you tweak it? Where do you purchase your protein products? Do you have a local store you purchase from or do you order online? Where do you turn for support? What online or in person support groups do you participate in? I would also love to include helpful suggestions and any words of wisdom you would want to share with others on this journey. What do you wish someone had told you in the beginning? As in, what to expect in those first few days post op. What ghastly error did you make that made you vow "Never again!" What did you take to the hospital and what do you wish you had taken? This could include items you wish you'd left at home as well as items you wish you'd had with you. Do you have any suggestions for the spouse/family of new ops? Any words of wisdom to help them cope with all of the changes and challenges? I will try to incorporate any helpful information along with the recipes. This will be "our" book.

Hi girlfriend, let me put on my thinking cap.  I'll have an answer for you next Monday when the brain is more active, after the liver test.  I know someone else had made up a book and was selling them for $18, but that was right after I started on this site 3 years ago.  I'm losing again down to 118 lbs, BMI 20.6.  Not good.  Must be the new man in my life.  LOL, Just remind me before Monday.   Love ya

That is absoluely a splendid idea! That would be so helpful to everyone no matter what stage they are in. I feel so blessed to be part of a group that is always thinking of ways to help others. I can't wait to see everyone at the next luncheon.
