Update on "what's going on"!
Hi friends...I saw the doc and I am fine! The weird fumes in the back of my throat are from being in extreme ketosis. Since I have gotten back on track from my carb binge a few weeks ago, I have gone back to absolutely no carbs whatsoever and it just threw my bod back into full blown ketosis so that is okay. The pain is in my pouch and can be one of two things...one is a hernia but Doc doesn't really think that's it...he thinks it is the second explanation. My pouch just doesn't like any red meat at all...I have been eating ground beef since 6 months out...with permission, the 97% lean kind from Sam's Club...Dr. Houston says it is just sitting in my pouch like a chunk of lead even after just a few bites. So back to poultry and seafood for a while longer. Overall, he was very pleased with my progress...BMI is 28...nearly normal, and I have fifteen pounds to go to hit my goal.
Another update...for you that know of my particular back issue...I'm requesting some extreme prayer warriors to step up to the plate for me. I had 2 MRI's, a cat scan, and a series of x-rays today. I saw Dr. Jason Hubbard yesterday and he ordered all these tests to see if I am a candidate for spinal correction. He said that if the condition is caused by something called, I think, ankosing spondylitis, not sure of that spelling, then nothing could be done. but since this is something usually found in elderly patients and I have had mine forever, he doesn't think it is. Please pray that I can have the surgery and that it goes well. I will keep posting on this. Later guys! Love ya!
