Any ideas what this is?
Okay, I need your advice. Starting yesterday, I have felt just crappy. I have a really bad headache and just feel blah, but this morning, I woke up with pains in my abdomen beginning just below the sternum. I don't want to eat but I did make myself drink a protein shake and it made me sick...and it made the pain worse. It is not excrutiating pain but it is not fun at all...also, and this is the weird part...I have a strange feeling in the back of my throat like I have alcohol fumes coming up from my esophagus. I know that is strange but it is the only way I can think of to describe it. It doesn't feel like I have anything stuck in my throat but it feels like I have very weird feeling fumes, almost like gas at the dentist, coming up. Any ideas on this? The fumes thing has been happening for a week now but the pains just started today...for those of you unfamiliar with me, I am 8 months out and had open rny in December.

Kym,
How are you feeling today? Did you go to the doctor yesterday? If so, what did he say? The reason that I ask is because on Sunday I also started with a pain in my abdomen under my sternum. However, mine was a sharp pain that would come and go every 15 minutes or so. I also had horrible diarrhea (sorry for being graphic) and it lasted until this morning. From Sunday morning until this morning I've lost 10 lbs. I know I am probably dehydrated as well. Unfortunately, I do not have a doctor in Nashville yet so I'm interested in finding out what your doctor told you. I know that there is a stomach bug going around because I found out today when I came back to work that several people are out with it or their kids have it. I wonder if we caught something at lunch on Saturday?
Thanks,
Karen
