PCP advice: Anybody here have Dr. James McGinley?

Before doing anything I need a plain ole PCP. How is Dr. James McGinley? There's one good review here but it's five years old:

I'd like to know more before I call to make an appointment.

I'd been eyeballing him because his practice is only minutes from where I live and I like the review, particularly the old "country doctor" bit..

Is there anybody else here who has Dr. McGinley for a PCP and can say he was sympathetic and supportive?

I think I want to go with him, but just in case, can anybody name some other supportive primary care physicians in the Franklin/Nashville area?

Thanks

Good morning! I know Dr. McGinley and he is AWESOME! Very caring, very supportive and he has had several patients who have had bariatric surgery. Pam

Well, I called and he's not accepting new patients. If anybody has any recommendations for a supportive PCP, please post some names here for my benefit and the benefit of others, I'm sure. Thanks.

If you don't mind driving to Nashville, I can highly recommend Dr. Robert Neaderthal. He is in the 20th Avenue Bldg which is located right across the street from the Baptist Emergency Room off Church Street. His phone number is 321-4646. He has several patients who have had WLS and is very supportive. He actually brought up the subject of WLS before I could figure out how to broach the subject with him. He even brought up to me recently that we need to document any skin problems I may start having so we will have additional support for the medical necessity for plastics. He continues to educate himself on our post-op needs and how to best care for us in all aspects. I think you would find him very easy to talk to. He listens and takes the time to answer questions.
