You have made a wonderful choice and I am so very excited that you did not give up and you are so very close to your date!!!!  Dr. Spaw is wonderful and you will be in great hands!!!

I agree with Susan, she has posted a lot of wonderful things to help you out with your protein, another thing that I will add, would be to make your own Sugar Free Pudding by using Fat Free Calorie Countdown milk instead of regular milk, it has half the calories and a lot less Carbs, I do this and add the Any Whey protein powder to my pudding and it is great.  You will be able to do this in the puree stage and it will help you get your protein in!!!   Any other questions, please feel free to ask!!!  Hope to see you tomorrow night at the Baptist support group @ 5:30 in Dr. Spaw's office, hope you can make it!! I forgot to mention Cinnamon Bliss, it is a creamy cimmamon carmel sauce that is wonderful in yougart, shakes and even for a different twist in the AO.

THANKS for all the good advice. I went today for my pre- admission tests.  I am glad that is over. One step closer!! Is it ok to add some fruit to the protien shakes? Much better that way. Lap Band August 27th! Dr Spaw

You can add fruit, but be careful with the amount. Remember, the fruit can add a lot of calories and carbs and you want to keep the carb & calorie count low. Most of us us the Da Vinci syrups to add that little extra pizzaz or to boost the flavor of fruit add ins. For example...I may add 1 large strawberry and an ounce of Strawberry Da Vinci SF syrup to make a really fruity protein smoothie. As a bandster, you are not going to have to worry about dumping on high sugar items like those of us with RNY. This means that you are going to have to be even more aware of the sugar content of what you eat so you can keep your calories under control. The fear of getting sick off of sugar is enough to keep most bypass patients away from it. Your date is getting so close. It won't be long now and you'll be a loser! I know you're in very good hands too with Dr. Spaw. Isn't he just the best?!
