PRAYERS NEEDED!!
I need all of you prayer warriors on your knees....
I will try to make this as short as possible. Hubby and I both had WLS in March 2006. In Sept. 2006, hubby was critically injured while riding his motorcycle when a lady ran a red light and hit him. I almost lost him. He is now paralyzed from waist down. We spent 83 days at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. During his stay, he developed a huge bed sore. It was 15 X 15 and went all the way to the bone. He's had 3 surgeries on it. We have been nursing this sore now for about 9 months. We didn't feel like it was healing with the treatment the doc was using, so we went for a second opinion Thursday. The new doc cultured it and just called to say he now thinks hubby has Osteomyelitis, which is a bone infection. We have to go Friday for a bone scan to confirm that's what we are dealing with. PLEASE pray that if that's what it is that it's been caught early enough for treatment to work. I am fearing the worst since he has had the WLS and we have bone issues anyway. Thanks!
UNDER GOAL!!
The size has decreased ever so slightly, but that's okay, at least is has decreased. I am doing pretty good. I think I am still kinda numb about the whole situation. I really haven't taken any "me" time to let it all soak in. I am getting in all my fluids and protein. I am 4 puonds below docs goal and am 16 months out so I think I am doing good as far as that goes. Thanks for the reply and have a blessed day!
UNDER GOAL!!
I will also keep both of you in my prayers, I know that this forum can really send up the prayers, as I have been receiving them a lot lately myself. Keep us posted and if you need us, we are here. I would also suggest making sure his surgeon knows about his condition as well, to help with any nutritional needs he may need.
Many prayers,
Shelia
