Good morning Tina  . call your insurancecompany and found out just what you do have and what they cover and if they do have weight loss surgery.. what they require of you , many require a 6 month documented diet before you can have surgery , also a letter from your family doctor stating all your physical ailments and how he thinks this surgery will help your physical problems .. I have the lap band and i am very happy with it.. Also at the top of this page , click on  the word  forums then  scroll down to lap band come in and post there ,  to find out more about us ,our problems and our procedures ..we also have lots of fun and talk just about anything and everything  under the sun ..

Call their customer service number (usually the number is found on the back of your card) to see if they approve the lapband and get them to tell you what is required to prove medical necessity. Hope that helps
