Hi all and a great big howdy from Dalton GA: Well I just got back home last nite from outpatient umbilical Hernia repair and a bit sore and moving slow this morning.(lol  Imagine that) I am so pleased with my post-op progress that I thought I would post today. First let me start by giving all the Praise and Glory to God. With out the prayers of my friends and church family this could not be as well. God has certainly been merciful to me  and I can't thank him enough. I had my RNY on March 28 and my life belongs to me again. I can not say enough about what this has done for me. I started out in a 50" waist and all 3x shirts and now I am proud to announce that I am teetering around 41" in the waist and down to all 1x shirts. My suits all hang on me and it feels so good to wear shoes I could not get into for 2 years due to my diabetic problems, which are in complete remission now. Best of all I feel like getting out and doing normal activities again I am playing golf again, working out in the yard and doing so many other things I had practically given up on. I also feel like traveling again and am back on the ministry trail as I travel thought out the Churches in our Assembly ( I belong to the Church of God of The Union Assembly) evangelizing the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I was at 332 when I saw the Doc in Feb., 317 at pre-op and down to around 254 now. I know that this is not news to most of you guys but I feel free again. Just a short update, I had hernia repair yesterday and doing fine with that too. A little sore this morning but feel well over all. Please keep us in you prayers

I'm glad your repair surgery went okay and you are doing so well even if somewhat slow but that wont last all that long.  You said something in your post that just makes me SMILE and it's the second reason I really want this surgery. You said "Best of all I feel like getting out and doing normal activities again" that right that just made me smile so big for you.  If I could I would have been patting you on the back!

Glad to hear you're doing well. Did the hernia show up after surgery? WHo did you're reppair? Nosey ain't I...but I noticed Dr. Rutledge did your GBS. He did mine too...... Glad to hear you're doing well...it seems being a food addict is the one thing church folks don't seem to consider sin...but focusing on food and not God is not a good thing. I feel so much better now that I found this website settingcaptivesfree.com "The Lord's Table". I didn't "NEED" it until about 3 months out and then I knew this surgery was a tool but I needed help with my food issues. God Bless and use you. Beth B. in Chattanooga

HI Beth: Glad you are doing well too. My hernia was there before my GBS but we didn't want to do anything with it till I lost some weight and got some pressure off my navel. Dr, Rutledge did it for me also and once again he was great to me and my wife. I don't  know what we would do with out him and the girls in the office. I am going to go check out that website you posted for me it looks interesting. Continued good luck to you and maybe we will meet one day. You have done well too. Bill R
