Thanks RhondaB and SheliaB for your help and advice...my paperwork was sent off by Dr Spaw's office today! Now I have to get serious! I'm concerned because I have such a 'sweet tooth' and going on a liquid diet seems like an impossible task. I was reading the OH memorials on this Board the other day and came to a quick realization that these procedures are still very risky.  Send your prayers my way I need them. Thanks, looking forward to being on the loser's bench! Will

Congrats on getting the paperwork sent in.  I hope you get approval quickly.  Yes, all surgeries have risk to them, but in my case the risks of staying how I was much outweighed the risks of the surgery.  Good luck to you and keep us updated on your progress. Darlene

Hi there! I am so happy for you.. I just have been approved and said I might as well try the liquid diet for a few weeks even before they say do it and get use to it. So I haven't had any food since last Thursday night and I am doing ok.I am getting in the protien but for a sweet  I am having sugar free sprite with lime or lemon squeezed in or the SF jello. Best of luck to you! Adrienne

Hi Will!! Good to hear from you!!! Sounds like you are right behind me....all my paperwork stuff was sent in to insurance on the 21st.  I talked to Baptist today--CIGNA has received everything and it is still in review.  I'm hoping that is good news! Hey...I'm with you on the "sweet tooth" thing!!  I look at it this way....that's what got me into this mess and if I can get out of it, then who needs sugar any way!!! Keep us posted on what insurance says. Rhonda

Hi Will! Congratulations on getting your paperwork submitted.  I know that you are excited!  I am with Dr. Spaw too.  I start the liquid diet on Monday.  You know...the way I see it, I get to have protein frappacinos three times a day.  I love it!  Okay so they are decaf but they still taste great and will help me shrink my liver for a safer surgery.  We can do this! Again, congratulations! Freddie

Congrats to you all, I know we will get through this and be better off for it! Rhonda sorry I couldn't get to the meeting July 3, car repairs on my son's vehicle. Was it helpful? Maybe I can get to the next one...I really need to be educated on what to expect and what I can and cannot eat. Thanks Will

Thanks for the invitation. I will do my best to be there.  Susan based on what I've read you guys are that and more. Are spouses invited as well?

Thanks Will

Spouses are most definitely invited! We love to meet each other's spouses. In fact, the spouses need the support of the other spouses as they learn how to deal with us as we go through this transformation. LOL
