Hey Nicole - re: Citracal Creamy Bites

I think those Citracal Creamy Bites from last night were old. The ones I tried were hard and crumbly inside instead of creamy and chewy like the ones I have purchased. Also, my lemon ones are in a yellow pack instead of the white pack like the ones there. I'm going to purchase some of the caramel ones and see if they are any different. Just thought I'd let you know so you don't judge them by the sample we got last night. BTW - it was really nice to meet you. You look great!

Susan, I have some of the caramel ones if you want to try them at lunch or I can mail you a couple.  They are super, super, almost sickenly sweet...definitely sweeter than I was prepared for.  The coating does taste like caramel but the inside is not really creamy but it's not crumbly either.

If you want to just bring them to the next luncheon, that will be fine.  I have the lemon ones and love them! The inside of the lemon are very smooth and creamy. Kind of like a caramel. I don't find them too sweet. I wonder if that's just the difference in our taste buds or a difference between the lemon and caramel flavors. The inside of the caramel ones I tried last night actually crumbled.

They are calcium citrate. 500 mg calcium, 200 mg vit D per chew. They are in individual sealed blister packs so they are easy to toss into your purse and carry with you. They are 35 calories each but worth every one. They are such a welcome change from the horse pill calcium +D that I normally take. They don't have the amount of vit D my PCP has me on for maintenance so I still take 2 of the horse pills each day too, in addition to my 50,000 unit of D once per week. I had low vitamin D prior to surgery so this is an ongoing issue for me.

I hope you had a good time on vacation. It's good to know that the ones you got were good. I will be trying the caramel, Kym is bringing me some to our luncheon on the 14th. It would be so great if some of you from Clarksville could join our luncheons. Perhaps those who want to come could carpool, or maybe we could plan a monthly (or occasional) gathering there in Clarksville. I know that our luncheons really help us connect with each other. We really have an opportunity to talk and get to know each other as well share tips and encouragement. Thank you, you're sweet!
