I'm home!

I saw Dr. Morton because Dr. Spaw is on a well earned vacation. However, because Dr. Morton only does Lap Band, he did call Dr. Spaw...bummer. He was afraid I might have a twisted or kinked bowel based on my bowel sounds so he sent me for bloodwork and x-ray. I have to tell you, he scared me when he started talking about admitting me so they could run contrast x-ray tomorrow. Bloodwork was good. X-ray didn't show anything except a lot of gas in the small intestine. He (they) believe it is a virus. Especially after I told him that my boss had a stomach virus a couple of weeks ago. That's the (really) good news. The bad news is, I'm still hurting. He did tell me to stay on liquid diet and if it gets worse tonight go to the ER and have them call him. If I'm not feeling any better tomorrow, I am to stay NPR in the morning so he can run the x-ray with contrast. He said there is still a chance it is a narrowing of the bowel or some other problem. But, he really thinks it is a virus. I'm really praying that I feel better in the morning. We are supposed to go to Knoxville for our family reunion this weekend and I would hate to miss that. I have 2 new babies to meet! I appreciate everyone's prayers. I didn't mean to scare everyone. I just wanted to make sure y'all know that I do follow my own advice (usually) and I called my doctor.

Susan,  I just read all the post, I am sorry upou are not feeling well.  there is nothing worse than feeling yucky.  Any way, I just wanted to let yuou know, we are praying you feel better for your reunion this weekend.  Let us know if there is anything you need, we are right down the road in Inglewood. Thanks Scott. I am feeling somewhat better today. I have stayed on liquids today, per doctor's recommendation. I really have no desire to put anything solid in my tummy. I'm still very tender and upset but nothing like Monday and Tuesday. It's nice to know I have (OH) family close. Susan

I made it to work today. Dr. Morton's nurse told me I should take a couple of extra days off "with pay" just because my boss is the one who probably gave me the virus! Tummy and bowel is still very tender. Even if Dr. Morton had not told me to stay on liquids I would have done it. I have no desire for solid food.

I'm hoping and praying that it is a virus and that it will be out of your system very soon! 'm glad you went to the doctor and had some tests run.  Hopefully it won't get worse tonight but if it does please don't hesitate going to the ER. It's always better to be safe than sorry. Please take care of yourself and get better so you can go spoil those babies. Melissa

Thanks Melissa. I am doing better. I plan on being in Knoxville so I can get my baby fix. I have a new niece and a new great-niece to meet. I'm really looking forward to it!
