I FINALLY did it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am required by the insurance company (BCBSTN) to lose 10% of my weight in order to qualify for wls. In my case it was 36 pounds. I am happy to say that I finally reached my goal and then some. I took Susan's and some of the other's advice and as soon as I saw I had hit my goal I took off to the doctor asap. I was waiting on her office to open the door this morning.
She was so happy to see that I lost a total of 39 pounds. It doesn't seem like that much to lose but it was a huge struggle for me. I want to thank everyone for their kind words of encouragement and motivation. I love you guys!! Hopefully in a couple of months I will be on the loser's bench with you.

Merry Christmas to all my OH friends!!
How Wonderful Melissa!!
Don't stop losing! Continue to do what you're doing to lose as much weight before surgery as possible. That is something I do kind of sorta regret doing... I gained 8lbs between my March 9th consultation and my April 11th surgery date... I was an eating machine!!
Again, congratulations!! I can't wait to hear for your approval!
*hugs*
Congrats hun, keep up the hard work. I found out yesterday that they want you to lose the weight before surgery in order to make our livers smaller, because during surgery especially LAP. the liver can get in the way of them trying to cut and count the inchs in the intestines.
I had heard that before but I didn't think all that much about it until yesterday when I talked to my new PCP doctor.
Keep up the hard work!!

Congratulations Melissa.
That is great. Uhh Yeah - 39 pounds is a lot to lose. You should be very happy and proud of yourself. I think if I had to lose 10% of my body weight, I might still be trying a year later! So Congrats and I hope you can get a quick approval.

Congratulations!!!!! I knew you were going to get there before the month was out. You have done an amazing job. Keep it up and your surgery and recovery will be a breeze.
Now all you need is an insurance approval and a surgery date! I'll be praying for both to happen quickly.
