There is a meeting there in Clarksville on June 25th. If I don't get to meet you then, I'll look forward to meeting you in July. "We" were stationed in Germany twice. The first time was 1956 - 1960 and the second time was 1964 - 1966. Then I was in Italy with my husband from 1975 - 1978.  The round doorknob reference was...all the door handles in europe were the flat, lever type and (at that time) all the doorknobs stateside were the round type. Now, of course, you see more and more of the lever type door handle here in the states. When someone would say they were going back to "the land of the round doorknobs" that meant they were rotating back to the states. That was just one of those old "Army brat" references I guess. I remember getting excited when I found Twinkies in the freezer case of our commissary in Italy! My friend who was shopping with me told me I had been there too long.  We also got excited when we found aluminum foil, paper towels and Downey fabric softener. Ah, Army life!!

A big ole welcome from one Clarksvillian to another!  I mostly stay on the main message board but do come here ocassionally.  Everyone seems nice here; not sure why I don't come more often.  Will try to commit to do that.  You have done a great job with your "tool".

UNDER GOAL!!
