up your nose with a rubber hose?
Hi Keith. They do put a respirator hose thingy through your mouth and down your throat during surgery but that comes out in the recovery room - usually before you ever wake up enough to know it was in and out. But I do not remember anything in my nose. I do not think that is a normal process.
Sorry, I do not know anything about the soy shakes you are asking about. I can't help you with that. Are you looking for protein shakes?? The best thing to do is get the variety sample pack of protein powders on bariatriceating.com. It comes with several different brands and flavors and you can try those after surgery. That way you can decide which ones you like best and then you can order just the ones you like. I make the emphasis on after surgery. It doesnt work to try them before surgery and stock up on what you "think" you like because I guarantee you that your taste buds will change the very day you have surgery and you will not like what you liked pre-surgery. So, if you decide to find protein shakes and drinks you like, you should not stock up on them until after you try them after surgery.
I hope this helps!

Hey Keith!
The hose was out before I woke up after surgery. Only had a dry sore throat afterwards though. I tried a soy protien powder called Attain. The vanilla is very good. They usually have sample packets at Vitamin shop of Soy protein powders, you might want to try individual packets until you find something you like.
