Update on Beth (rjsmom)
Good Morning Everyone,
Just a little update on Beth’s surgery (rjsmom). The surgery went fairly well on Monday, it lasted 6 .5 hours, which was a little long if you ask me. She got to her room at 3:00 that afternoon and was sleeping peacefully. Everything was fine that evening.
When I arrived Tuesday a.m., I found a pint of blood hanging on the IV carousel. This kind of frightened me, especially when I found 2 more had been ordered. It seems they had to empty her drain plug several times and was concerned about her blood loss. Her Mom and Dad was coming to sit with her for the day, so I left for work with explicit instructions to call me and I would be there in 5 minutes. As the day progressed, the blood flow slowed. Now her blood pressure was the concern, they could not get her to a decent level. I stopped in at lunch and she looked better, but there was still an air of concern. When I stopped in after work (8:00 p.m.), she had a 100% improvement, but at this time she had not had any food I know …liquid) to eat, nor had she been out of the bed.
Wednesday went a lot better, she finally had her chicken broth, crystal light and unjury. So things had started to take a turn for the better. I even got to help her take a shower on Wednesday evening.
I had hoped she would be home on Thursday, but now Dr. Dyer says either Friday or Saturday. I will be happy and grateful that when she does home she will be healthy!
I know this has been a little long, but I want to send a BIG THANK YOU, to all who have prayed, thought about us, or called Beth! It has made a world of difference knowing there are actually people who care!
Have a great day!
Scott
