Well, I did it. Told Linda to pick up some soy Milk at wally-world cause I was swearing off MILK. It was quite an enlightening experience I never want to repeat.  Why is only 6 grams of sugar to much?  I can tolerate 2 grams but not 3 or 6 in soy milk.  Is there something else in soy-milk I am not aware of? Well at least now I know it's a no-no. The skim milk makes me have gas all night but no dumping, is this normal? Thanks Dewy

I think a lot of us experience some degree of lactose intolerance after surgery. Try taking Lactaid with your dairy products. I would rather deal with the gas than the dumping. It is strange what we tend to dump on. Each person is so different. I have eaten a regular cookie and been fine. But, I have also dumped on 6 grapes...small grapes!! Sorry you had to experience this.

Everyone reacts differently to certain things. It is really hard to tell. I have no trouble with milk... I love my Fat free milk! I've found too that the further out you are the more you can tolerate (sugar wise)....at least that is the case for me. And too, some things that you have trouble with now, you may not have  trouble with down the road...like I said, it is really hard to tell.

Hood has a calorie countdown milk and I think its only 3 sugars.  Its in the dairy section at walmart, and they have fat free, or 2%..  I get the fat free, but I am not a milk drinker much anymore have you tried micellar milk? It has protein in it, its 17 oz per container and has 40 proteins. and is low in sugar.  check out bariatriceating.com or itsallsugarfree.com as they both sell it.  it comes in chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry (the newest flavor).  I like to put the creamy vanilla over ice and drink it slowly. like a shake or something.  its also good heated up.and you can add it to coffee and get protein while you enjoy your coffee.  just lots of uses for it.

Thanks Everyone, I tried the splenda today again and no problem, so it defiantly was the soy milk.  Today after a pretty rough night I have no more gas.  I tried 1/4 cup of cottage cheese today no problems with that, Tuesday of next week I'll add an egg then couple of days latter refried beans any other suggestions?
