What comes next?

I went to the education class yesterday and I go to the dietition an the 13th then for my endescope on the 23rd .Ive done every thing else psych eval , weight loss seminare ,support group ,sleep study. It all seems so drawn out .I was wondering whats next?  Pam

Hi Pam. It looks like you are almost there! What insurance do you have? Most require a 6-month Dr supervised diet. Have you started or completed that. You baiscally have to go get weighed in once a month for six months by your physician. Also, has your PCP wrote you a letter yet. After that, it sounds like the only thing left is submitting for insurance approval. That, unfortunatley, is when the torture waiting begins!  I hope you get a quick approval. Keep us updated!

 Hi Pam!! I really enjoyed talking with you the other night. I second what Misty told you. I'm not sure if Tri-care requires a 6 month doctor supervised diet or not. You could always call the office and ask. Once they submit to the insurance for approval, it shouldn't take too long. Then the next wait will be for your surgery date to get here. That will give you time to make all of your final preparations for the actual surgery.  I'll see you at the next support group meeting! Susan

Hi back at ya Susan ,and sorry I guess I had a temperary laps in sanity ,Patience is not a virtue I hold , So i made my self go back and read some of the other posts and I know there are alot of people who have been waiting for years to have RNY done and it really made me feel like a heel .  It just kind of felt like the seminar and the educaton class(both very informative) coverd the exact same things so It was a little frusterating .  Thank you  Misty and Susan !
