Please Help Me !!!!

Has anyone gone to Mexico for Lap Band surgery? If so, tell me about your experience as I am considering this route since my insurance will not cover WLS. Thanks, Jason

Hi Jason. I looked into going to Mexico for my RNY surgery but was finally able to get my insurance to approve it so I had it here. I never did see a Dr there that did lap band. I thought they would only do the RNY? Make sure you check out the "South of the Border" forum board here on OH (listed under Other forums). There are 100s of people just on this board who had it done there and you can find out a lot on that board. I saw about 3-5 primary surgeons down in Mexico that are highly recommended and really affordable (it was total about $9500 including transportation and hotel/hospital stay). The biggest thing about having it done in Mexico is making sure you have a very good Primary care physician here that is fully aware of this surgery and can do your aftercare and blood tests regularly.
